not anymore...and i get that...he sucked...north texas sucks at basketball, but this was supposed to be a great year for smu...great recruits from brown, jankovich coming in to coach, yet he screwed it up...

500k for our coach (incoming)...1.75 million for yours...you were upset in the first round of the tourney, granted you made it...but damn that's a lot of cash to spend on a wasted year (4 more guaranteed) with great talent

I have to agree that Jankovich called a bad game. From my seat high in the upper deck, it looked like SMU doesn't always run a structured set when it needs to. What I always look for is whether a team can run an out of bounds play that gets players open and that wasn't always the case today. IMO SMU had more talent.

Also it couldn't have been the crowd because they (and I) were very pro-SMU. I really wanted that Methodists versus Baptists (Baylor) game.

But anyway, good luck to the Mustangs next year!

Watching shake face the zone was like watching Tretiak in the 80 semifinals. He was slow and indecisive where he hadn't been before. The moment was too big for him and our lack of depth amplified the impact. Jank could have called a few time outs, but that has never been his style and that's not how they played all season. I just wish they hadn't lobbied the officials to go back and replay the three....that iced Ben and amplified the frustration from the OB call.

Either way...the program is fine. We'll likely be better next year and keep building on that.

No need to apologize. Your school made the NCAA Tourney which, alone, distinguishes SMU from all other AAC teams save Cincy.

Fatigue makes for bad decision making. He not only should've called timeout to get them settled, but to let them get their wind for the stretch run. Running 6 guys all season worked until the frenetic, pressurized tourney. Had to see this coming when ECU closed on them in the AAC tournament.

I was also at the game & agree with the last 5 minutes coaching. It seemed every SMU offensive possession came down to a last second of the shot clock shot. No movement on offense at all. Shake did hit 2 big 3s at the end of shot clocks, but that was a bad game plan. Semi should've had the ball on the last 2 possessions.

Heart breaking loss, but a great season for SMU. No AAC apologies needed. I was very impressed with the SMU fan turnout in Tulsa.
