Still disappointed...thought Tulsa was going to be a strength, but I think it amplified the butterflies in Shake's stomach and led to a terribly timid second half.

We need to give SMU a little slack here imo.
They didn't play in the post season last year and this was a new experience for a lot of the players as well as Tim Jankovich (at SMU). Call it stage fright or the choke factor, whatever, but post season has its own dynamic. There is a reason teams like Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina etc always win those NCAA post season games every year and thats because they make the dance vitually every year. Post season experience is not something hoped for, but expected to those schools.
So if SMU makes the dance next year, many of their players will know and understand what lies before them. Cincy (and maybe our new member WSU) have that going for them since they've been to the dance a lot lately. SMU earned their place in the Tourney, they just didn't earn that win yesterday.
