Jeff Lebo will return to ECU next year
Not it is not a joke. I wished it were, but it is not.

Here is the statement from The ECU athletic director:

Compher: "I was very pleased w/ how we finished the year. I was looking for progress and I saw that. It was complicated w/ Lebo's surgery."

https://twitter.com/_JoshDGraham/status/...8427461636

Fwiw, the assistant coach Michael Perry finished the year. So the progress spoken of didn't even happen under Lebo, but the dumb A.D. is crediting Lebo with it.

I'm done! Compher is incompetent and needs to be fired! Every chance ECU gets they further prove the old Big East correct, we are not committed to the development of the Basketball program.

Have ECU fans tried the petition/public shaming route? It seems everyone other than the AD is against Lebo.

Lebo will either be extended or he will retire at the age of 54 whenever 2021 comes around and his contract is up. He will NEVER be fired from ECU

I thought having him coach here for seven years was already to much public shame.

Agreed. Please hit us with the chair again.

We need someone else to blame. This is all Temple's fault for losing to ECU twice.

But Lebo wasn't the coach on either occasion this year when ECU beat Temple, but he was the coach when ECU lost to Temple.

Oh boy.

ECU getting Tom Grean would be a Home Run for them

The thing frustrates me is the little respect from College Basketball World towards our league. I guess the only solution to that is the Out Of Conference games American schedules.

look at our coaches from each school. There is no reason for us not to become a power league in Basketball.

What a joke our basketball program is. I would rather us drop the program all together than keep Lebo.

Has to be beyond frustrating for ECU fans that like and care about basketball.

Meh...I think if anyone other than Compher was our AD, that statement would not be true.

To be fair there aren't many of us. Sad. Personally speaking I'd rather be good at basketball than football or baseball.

ECU may only have a 0.01% chance of winning a championship in basketball in the future, but is 0.01% more of a chance than we have of winning a championship in football under the current system.

This state of ECU athletics is beyond frustrating for any sport any one cares about besides baseball and that choice was so easy a caveman could've picked Cliff Godwin.

Compher has successfully come in and completely wrecked everything that Terry Holland worked to build. He set the bar with Ruff when he came in and tried to sound like Billy Badass saying that championships were the goal and Ruff wasn't doing that so we were moving on. Then says today that he likes the direction the bball programs are trending with WBB coach Macy who has gone 13-19 and 11-19 and Lebo who has gone 14-19, 12-20 and 9-10.

Jeff Compher is like the female Debbie Yow.

That is a complete insult to Debbie Yow. First of all she is more competent than that boob Compher. Yow actually hired Gottfried who in turn went to NCAA tournaments. Yow then then fired Gottfried when he flatlined after 6 years.

Compher is just a dumb@$$. Period. Apparently Lebo has a lifetime contract and he is not nearly as good as Gottfried. So Yow is a better evaluator of talent and she has bigger balls than that clown Compher.
