I don't think expansion is totally done, especially with the contract ending within 2 years. I think a try for VCU/Dayton later down the line is still a possibility and WSU may have been a trial test of the proverbial waters for Aresco. Hell, I'd be happy if we just kicked Tulane out and added Army for football and Gonzaga for bball.

I think the adds of additional Olympic sport only is intrinsic on football only adds. BYU + Army would be my guess, but since those adds would have happened already if they were going to happen, I sense it's highly unlikely we even get to that point, let alone VCU / Dayton adds.

The American has the 51st and 52nd states in this grand union within our conference: Wichita and East Carolina

I kept bugging SMU staff from day 1 about why we weren't adding a basketball school. Was always told the conference wanted 5 years together to see if we could gel. So it took 4 years to add 1 basketball school, wonder how long to add 2 more.

I could see one of two things behind the addition of Wichita State: A compromise between the faction behind adding hybrid members, and the members scared of Big East 2.0 or A trial run to see how Wichita does, before the addition of more.

Either don't bode well for quick additions.

I don't expect any "quick additions" either but not for those reasons -- simply because there is no one else out there who is both willing to join *and* clearly/obviously in a position to strengthen the league. Nobody in the A10 or Mtn. or whatever is as strong as Wichita is, *Right Now*. If we, as a league, take care of business over the next 2-3 years, all of those teams will still be available down the road.

As long as we get two games each with UConn, SMU, WSU, Memphis, and probably Temple every year, and one each vs. the others, then, I'm fine.
