Coach K said many times that Sanford IS a point guard. Since we don't have a returning 2G, why not move Sanford if Jackson is ready to play. Wouldn't it be a good idea to have two guys on the floor that have PG attributes than one? Considering Sanford's size, wouldn't giving him extra freedom on the floor easily increase his scoring?

K has NO IDEA what a PG is. Juice was NOT a PG. He was. SG with PG size. Much like the Suckeyes, no PG play. This team would have been much better with Roberts running more PG and Sanford and Williams at the wings. When teams gave us any pressure, Sanford was nervous and a TO waiting to happen.

Juice wasn't a PG? Hmmm, can't agree with that.

Juice was definitely a point guard, in my opinion. He has the second most assists in school history behind only Tim Reiser.

And...? Juice played with a STACKED roster. Started all 4 years. Numbers are going to be higher. He was a 2 guard in an undersized 1s body. Made no one better. Looked for his own. Not a slam, hell of a player... one of my favorites. There is a reason Boothe didn't come to the scene until Sr. year... and it wasn't development.

My point is that I think Juice played the point guard position very well. Yes, he was a 4 year starter, but he distributed the ball to his teammates very well over those 4 years, which led to the large number of assists.

RE: Jaelan Sanford's Performance at Point Guard
Juice was clearly an excellent point guard of the "shoot first" variety. Sanford, the turnover waiting to happen" was number 4 in the MAC in assist/TO ratio in conference games, ahead of such stalwarts as Hamilton, Keene, Brayson and Simmons. I still see him as a wing because it frees him up of responsibility and allows him to shoot threes, which he does very well, but he was an effective PG who RARELY turned the ball over. Roberts' assist/TO ratio was slightly better but in many fewer minutes, often at garbage time and rarely when any pressure was applied. Having Roberts on the floor trying to shut down Keene, as Sanford did, or some of the other big scorers in the MAC, would not have made us a better team.

I like that Sanford handles the ball with his head up watching the floor. He's a savvy pg on offense who runs the pick and roll with the 4 or 5 as well as anyone in the MAC. He's smart and with 2 more seasons to refine his game it will be exciting to watch his development. On D as a pg he works hard, helps out and can play the passing lanes but I prefer a quicker point that can stay in front of the opponents point and stop penetration into the lane

Yeah... Our Defense was superb all year... Or since K has gotten here. What are you guys watching??? 03-banghead Teams wanted us to get into a pick and roll game. Much less effective. My goodness. Sometimes I think we deserve 50 years with no postseason play.

Roberts is what, a year or less, from being released to play from ACL? Lat movement will be better. Clearly the smartest player we had.
