RE: Middle Tennessee is the favorite.
So much for sneaking up on anyone. Truth is, this should be an 8-9 or 7-10 game. I hate it for MTSU because MN will be ready to play as a result, but the press is nice. And the Raiders did get a winnable game. I just have a bad feeling about it because I saw MN play this year and they're pretty good too. Add to it all the slights they perceive now, and the typical mid-major bad luck and I'm not optimistic anymore. Will be rooting like heck for MT though.

8-9. MTSU blew out a current 9 seed.

This reference back to our "good old days" makes me sad: "But the Blue Raiders are the first since 12th-seeded Rhode Island, coming off an Elite Eight trip a year earlier, was installed as a one-point favorite over fifth-seeded Charlotte.

Rhode Island lost that game, Lamar Odom’s lone NCAA tournament appearance, by 11 points."

There is a guy who is on local radio, that runs predictionmachine.com that simulates the NCAA Tourney games (over and over), and MT goes to the Sweet 16 over 20% of the time.

But...... I am cautiously optimistic. I'm afraid MT might pull an "MT"

After last year I can't imagine that MT is sneaking up on anyone. I have them going to the s16.

This is bulletin board material right here. Mtsu needs to bring it's A game. Can't start slow in this one. They will be ready.

RE: Middle Tennessee is the favorite.
We have to be 100% ready to play and come out with the most intensity we have had all year. And we can't get flustered if we have a bad start -- remaining calm, working through our system, and beating the Gophers by physicality is something we CAN do only with the right mindset and prep... but if we are wobbly it won't happen.

If they were going to flop they would have done it in Birmingham. I expect them to beat Sota by double digits and then game on in the next round. They are well coached and experiences. Being healthy sure helps too.

Well we won by 9. Close enough to double digits. I think Butler will be tougher... but we can and should win that one too

Same here. I rarely venture onto other conferences' boards but wanted to make sure to congratulate y'all on that victory yesterday. Good luck next round!
