Nope. Flecktards are still going to be bringing him up here so he's still relevant for the next 100 years or so.

That would be so delicious. Especially if it happened in our back yard.

Never. We will never be done with Fleck. Hell, we aren't done with Cubit, and his successor won a MAC championship and took us to a Cotton Bowl.

It was a great run..a bit of a deal with the devil, but that MAC champions lettering at Waldo instead of rtb... was worth it

No kidding as per his nature the devil tried to come back and collect more than the deal called for I.e. Spillane .

It's only natural we'll be keeping an eye on Minnesota's games over the forthcoming seasons, especially given how roughly 10% of their roster are former WMU verbals. Love him or hate him, everyone's going to be at least mildly curious of how his career trajectory (and sloganeering) goes.
We had a few Illinois football game threads with Cubit as HC in 2015.

Even Stacey Cubit gets mentioned every once in a while.

Glad it is time to move on now. Lester's team began spring practice yesterday and I'm excited to get news so I hope some of you are able to take in a few practices.http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.ssf/2017/03/western_michigan_holds_first_s.html#incart_river_index

Are you done w/ Greg Jennings, Saddi Washington, Corey Davis, John Offerdahl, Tim Lester, and other Bronco legends?
He had the most successful season in WMU football history. We will be celebrating him 25+ years from now. Not, holding a grudge because he left for a bigger job like pretty much every other MAC coach ever.

Agreed.
Honestly, he deserved to move on. Yes, he could've and should've built WMU into a consistent G5 Power (and won a couple more bowls), but reality is we are a G5 team. The writing was on the wall when he expressed disappointment in the fullness of the stadium. Every coach moves on. It happens even in the Power 5. The way he left stealing our recruits will be largely forgotten in a few years. It might even be forgotten if we win the MAC again this year.
I am not upset anymore. I know he'll do well at Minny.

They didn't transfer to other schools to play out rest of their careers.
Especially after being quoted about how much they loved Kalamazoo and were grateful to WMU.

Fleck tarnished my impression of him by poaching players to the extent that he did. There was never a question that he would ultimately leave for a P5 job, and I don't disparage him for that, but his personal agenda clearly controls his actions. It did at wmu too, and that's ok, as college football programs go up with their coach, and we won as a result.
It's all ok. We have good players on the team, and we should be able to win. Lester wasn't one of the guys I would have hired, but I see no reason to think he can't do well. The guy has been a high achiever, and he certainly is motivated to do well.
As for Fleck, I will not be rooting for him, and based on how things were handled with recruits and players, I hope he falls on his ass. He is no longer a bronco, and conducted himself in a way which was antagonistic to WMU immediately after he left. He should have told Spillane to stay at wmu and build on his own reputation, and stay committed to the team. That would be what I would tell a kid like that if I was truely looking out for the kids best interest. He wasn't interested in Spillane though.
