Getting in is one thing. Getting a 9-seed is mind blowing.
Don't sleep on Vandy, they are a better team than many think. Don't be shocked when they win their opening game.
LOL, they're playing an 8/9 game vs Northwestern. Why would anybody be surprised if they win? That doesn't mean they deserve that seed at 19-15. FFS, that's criminal.
19-15 isn't so bad when you've played what RealtimeRPI says is the #1 schedule in the country.
eh I don't know Quo...even with the #1 schedule in the nation, 15 losses is a TON
but Vandy isn't a bad team, that's for sure.

Didn't realize the NCAA Tournament was for teams that were "not so bad."
Look, kudos for Vandy for playing the "toughest" schedule. However, this tournament is supposed to be about crowning a champion. The one thing Vandy proved by playing the best and losing to most of them is that they are NOT that team.
Also, I fully expect the Dores to beat Northwestern. NW is about as mediocre as it gets.

Well, if that's the standard, then we should have a 16-team tournament, because we already know that at least 3/4 of the teams aren't going to win the title. There are probably 10-12 teams that have any realistic chance of winning it all.

Here's Mick Cronin's 2 minute answer when asked if he thinks the committee is trying to stick it to him for his previous comments:

Mick's right, the AAC was disrespected. But he's also right, if they win their first game they still get to play the 3 seed, whereas if they were 3 seed they could be playing the 6th seed anyway. It would not change much.

Vandy deserves it. Toughest schedule and they were killing in the second half of the season. When they hit 3's, they are very tough.

Here's the rub, OOC they played Butler, Marquette, Minn, Dayton and MTSU AND LOST ALL FIVE GAMES. They beat a bubble team in Belmont, yay. In conference they beat Florida three times and South Carolina once. Lost every other game against a decent team. The resume is totally overrated. They clearly matched up well with Florida and that got them in.
This is how OOC schedules can be so overrated and can come down tot the luck of the draw. Before the season, SMU's OOC schedule would line up just as well as Vandy's.

They didn't just get in, they got a single digit seed, which is mind numbing.

Seriously, I don't get it. Underseed SMU and match them up (potentially) with a team they lost to.

NO. They're freaking 19-15 and 12-9 in the #5 conference. NO.

New rule: Must have 20 wins and finish above .500 in conference to be an at large.

RE: Official Selection Show Thread
Vandy was once and done and finished 0 and 1 in tourney and 16 losses overall. Did they really deserve a 9th seed? How did they seed better than Wichita State who had exactly 1/4 the losses as Vandy to this point in time?
