O/T Case study of how hard it is to predict a team's performance
This post has to do with UofM's experience and their easy win yesterday.

As many know, their plane had a mishap getting off the ground at Willow Run in the heavy winds, etc. No one hurt but apparently people were shaken up. Some members of the travel party who planned to come to D.C. opted not to come...

They had to get to Dulles Airport alternate means and their game time start had to be delayed 20 minutes as they had to get through D.C. area traffic (blood pressure pills recommended. Lol).

Sounds like a prescription for a bad, bad game or at least a bad start: Fear, stress, anxiety, etc.

Nope. UofM wore their practice shirts (looked ugly), but they blew Illinois out. Broke very quickly and never looked back.

Now, if UofM would have lost by 20 I wouldn't have been surprised, but nope.

Maybe, or the resilience of youth. The adrenaline must have been really flowing.

Or maybe the Illini felt sorry for them. Lol.

I do remember 25 years ago, my flight to Salt Lake City for a marathon was delayed, (stuck on the tarmac), etc. got to bed around 2:00 a.m. needed to be to the start line around 6:00 a.m. Ran a strong marathon on say 3 hours (maybe) "sleep" (in quotes). (not recommended though).

Curious if UofM will come out flat TODAY. There is usually a one-day physical delay on the after effects of lack of sleep, etc.

Score is UofM 8, Purdue 7 as I post.

IF I were in Vegas, I would have bet Purdue. I doubt UofM will have 100% to give today.

If I were in Vegas, I'd probably would have lost my shirt.

UofM is playing a great game going into OT.

A classic 1 / 8 see game.
