Cap'n's been around a long time, so I doubt it.

That said, Jenifer is hardly elite, and not even a starter. I'll take him any time as a role player however.

I think JJ is a good passer, but with his size and the fact that seems like we have more talent coming in at the guard position it will be hard for him to get a lot of playing time.

I will say this: of the role players this year (excluding Cumberland), Jenifer seems to have the most potential. I could see him becoming a first team all conference player by his senior year. Tre and Nysier, while servicable, may never reach that point.

I just don't see JJ playing enough for that, maybe 6th man of the year.

Ha!

Nope, I'm serious here. His ballhandling skills are top-notch. If you gave him starter's minutes he'd have had over 5 assists per game and the 2nd best assist/turnover ratio in the NCAA. As a sophomore.

I see him as in the mold of Tim Frazier, T.J. McConnell, or Ishmael Smith. They're all under 6'1, are among the NBA league leaders in assists/TO ratio, and average over 5 assists and under 8.5 pts/game in the NBA. As college sophomores, Frazier averaged 6 pts/5 assists/2.1 assist-to-turnover /34% from 3-point at Penn State, McConnell averaged 11/6/2.1/43% at Duquesne (which was much better than his junior year at Arizona), and Smith averaged 8/4.7/1.7/33% at Wake Forest. Smith is actually a horrible shooter - his senior year he shot 22% from 3-point and 49% for free-throws.

He's not as good as those 3 guys, and he needs to develop his offensive game a bit, but he doesn't have to be an NBA-starter to be elite for the Bearcats. With Cumberland and Evans playing the 2 and 3, Jenifer doesn't have to be the top offensive weapon anyways.
