Thompson has a double-double with 8 minutes to go in the 1st half. EMU just can't get production from anyone else right now.

RE: Men's Quarterfinals Game Thread
Akron advances. They controlled the game after the first 10 minutes. EMU has only 3 guys that can actually shoot the ball, and when one of them doesn't make the trip for disciplinary reasons, we are screwed anyway. No answer for Big Dog at all, either. Glad he's gone after this year.

With the 7 technical fouls in today's game EMU just misses the magical 50 mark in T's called in their games. The final count 27 for (on EMU), 22 against.

But other than that, we are pretty disciplined. 04-cheers

Is Murphy's seat starting to get hot?

Personally, I hope so. And I've been a huge Murphy advocate for years. He's shown no signs of improving the team beyond hovering around .500, and I just think it's time to move on.

I don't think our AD makes a move, however. One more year.

Hopefully this proved to Maddawg for once and for all that EMU isn't the 2nd best team in the MAC. Knowing his system though instead it is far more likely despite losing, EMU will leap Akron for the #1 spot.

You're pretty obsessed with one dude's rankings, huh? You guys won. Be happy.

Remove those 19 wins against non-D1 teams and he's looking at a steep slope up to .500 (88-97).

I would have let them go long ago, but I get a kick out of watching him vehemently defend them when they are so blatantly wrong.

RE: Men's Quarterfinals Game Thread
You would think an AD in Ypsi would look at the perpetual lack of discipline and control in the program and the apparent lack of effective coaching and player development and say "enough." If you were going to rank coaches in the conference, would anyone put him higher than 10th? I'm sure most would have him 11th and only ahead of Miami's at this point, assuming Cooper has survived the afternoon.

I'd put him ahead of Monty and Cooper. That's it.

EDIT: I have to include Keno too, since Murphy has owned him in their tenures. So I'd put Murphy 9th.

I can't imagine Cooper is returning. His contract is up so it's either get rid of him now or pay him for another 2-3 years.

Broncos down 38-33 to Ball State at the half.

WMU came out strong, then went in a funk and BSU took a decent lead. Chipped a little of it back toward the end of the half.

Persons took a knee to the head from a teammate and sat out the final 10 minutes of the half for Ball State. Folks at the game saying he has a concussion and needed 9 stitches, so he's done for today (and with the concussion maybe for any other games they would play if they advance).

I thought Haymond struggling was a huge (Donald Trump saying huge) factor. Went for 21, 21 and then 8 against the Cards.
