CMU to decline post season bid

Guess some tourneys are interested because of some guy named 'Keene'...

Keene and Rayson are fun to watch.

I'm sure they are a more exciting team than many teams with better records.

I don't blame them. The CBI, CIT type of alphabet soup tourneys are ignored like the busboy at Hooters. Can't be too motivated to play with that record, just to prop up one player's stats.

If I were a fan of Central I'd be ticked off. The benefits of these post-season tournaments to the team far outweigh the costs. You get extra practices, games in a tournament setting. Especially for a young team like CMU this experience can be invaluable. It's this kind of small picture thinking that keeps the bottom half of the league in the bottom half of the league.

After losing 8 straight i'd want the season to end.

Exactly. CMU was in a freefall. If they finished the season hot but got bounced in the tournament, they might have said yes to a consolation tourney.

I concur. And what message would that have sent to the rest of the team, anyway? "Hey guys, Keene got an invite to a nondescript post-season tournament and you get to go along. Just remember: nobody shoots except him, at least until he gets 31 points".

I concur. This team was a hot mess. The offense consisting of running down the court hoisting an off balance 3 or an isolation drive to the rim by one of our 2 guards was nauseating. There was no team, there was no defense, the team was tired and I think keno lost control. Best just to call the season a major disappointment and move on. Except next year will be even worse as keene will most likely not be back.
