Hopefully next year Dedtric gets the POY and KJ gets 1st team on the way to the AAC Champioship. The new glory days are around the corner.

Technically, the player would be new to the league.
There are no dumb questions, just dumb posters.

These recognitions are fine but they have not translated into a winning, successful season thus far. However, if we were to make some noise in the conference tourney, then...

You're right. I was using 247 and could have sworn it said 2-star. Probably a different Jalen Adams. 247 comp has him a 5-star too.
So it's 5-4-4-3-3. Kinda changes things.

Well, yeah. A number changed.
Still interesting though - don't you think? More 3's than 5's. Average ranking 3.8. You can win in college basketball with 3-stars. They have to be the right guys and well coached. But it's not a far-fetched notion.

It's also the AAC, where 5* aren't generally going.
I would imagine ALL available 4* and 5* are limited to Memphis, Cinci, UConn, UH, and SMU.
Memphis 4*:
Markel
Dedric
KJ
SMU 4*
Semi (Duke xfer)
Shake Milton
Sterling Brown
Houston 4*:
Chicken Knowles
UConn 4*:
Kenton Facey
Rodney Purvis (xfer)
Terry Larrier (xfer)
Jaylen Adams (5*)
Steve Enoch
Alterique Gilbert
Juwan Durham
Vance Jackson
Momado Diarra
Cinci 4*:
Gary Clark
Jacob Evans
Jarron Cumberland
Kyle Washington (xfer)

UConn...damn.
I will note that Larrier, Diarra, and Gilbert were all lost for the season within the first three games, but that still left five 4* and one 5* (along with 3* Brimah).
Just a bad season for Ollie.

He really looked like he had it all together a couple of years ago. Now he looks like a very average coach.
Like you said, a bad season for Ollie, but do you think it's an event, or a trend?

Next year is the barometer for sure. He returns his 5* and six more 4*'s and brings in the #32 player in the class and two other 3* bigs.
If the ship isn't righted, it might be a good time to cut bait and offer that job while there is still talent on the roster.

Yeah, I'd trade a couple of guards to have Brimah on our team.

Don't act like that team lacked talent (Deandre Daniels, Ryan Boatwright, Shabazz Napier, among others).
The issue is the last three years. Missed the NCAA's twice and finished 5th, 6th, and 5th in the AAC.
The team this year was loaded with talent and they looked awful this year. Out of control, no gameplan, nothing.
So, yeah, next year will be interesting. Like I noted, he'll likely have at least 6 or 7 4* on the team.

Not arguing that. But the fact is, we have 2 3's on the all-AAC team. We're not trying out for the all-B10 team. We are in the AAC. It can be done with the right 3's, sprinkling in a local 4 every year or two.
