Not watching it either.
The show will just be a bunch of Hollywood elite snowflakes venting that their gal lost the election.

Pretty boring and mostly tame at this point. Sure a lot of Trump jokes (and Mel Gibson ones too). But nothing amazingly outrageous yet. Jimmy Kimmel isn't enough of a heavyweight to pull off biting political humor. But hold on, best foreign film is being presented now. Denmark, Sweden, Australia, Germany and Iran are nominated - guess who wins?

Iran and of course he can't be there. Now this should be interesting....

RE: Not Watching Oscars
The director has a friend read a statement that should be trending shortly. He says in the statement that he isn't there out of respect to the seven countries banned from entry to the U.S. It kind of reminds me of when Marlon Brando won Best Actor I think for The Godfather and had a Native American read a political statement on his behalf?

I flipped over about an hour in, someone was singing and behind them was a statement about the media. I flipped away.

Donald Trump is pregnant? Isn't he the GOAT (greatest president of all time)?

Honestly it's a boring ceremony by Oscar ceremonies, and that's saying something. La La Land finally just won something. I tried watching that movie last week and could only make it through about 45 minutes before nodding off. Nothing wrong with great Hollywood musicals but Singing in the Rain it's not.

Follow Mark Dice on Youtube. If anything noteworthy happens, he'll make a video on it.

I actually think these fine folks are performing a public service. The Oscars provide a platform for my Hollywood overlords to tell me how I should think. Without celebrity input, how could I possibly be expected to form an opinion on the important issues of the day?

RE: Not Watching Oscars
Hacksaw Ridge has won two Oscars. Guess actors are a bit more forgiving than you think. Members of the Academy voting for that film over La La Land is like them voting for Trump over Clinton.

Forgot it was on, wouldn't have watched if I had remembered. Sundays are TWD and Talking Dead time.

It wasn't that bad in terms of politics. With that said, it's a forgettable event.

RE: Not Watching Oscars
Okay the Oscars just ended with a Steve Harvey moment times gazillion. They just announced the wrong Best Picture winner.

They gave the wrong card and said La La Land won best picture when in fact it was Moonlight. I don't think anyone will be talking about politics at the Oscars tomorrow.

But maybe it gives me hope that we were wrong 3 months ago and Clinton beat Trump??

I don't understand the appeal personally. I've never watched an awards show and probably never will.
