Mrs Clennell told the BBC she was put in a van and taken to the airport from the Dungavel Detention Centre in South Lanarkshire on Saturday.

She also said she was unable to contact her lawyer and did not have the chance to get any clothes from her home.

She had been held at the facility since the start of February.

She refused to take out a British Passport because she wanted to continue to receive welfare benefits in Singapore.

Now she should have been able to contact her lawyer.

How is that different from "refusing to immigrate to the US the lawful way because they get welfare benefits if they illegally cross and remain undocumented."?

There are unconfirmed reports that the British man was seen celebrating at the local pub.
