a woman or her partner does have to take a bit of responsibility and initiative to go get it but if you are even remotely responsible about not wanting to get pregnant it can be taken care of pretty easily.

As it should be. Until they reach the legal age of consent, girls shouldn't be allowed to make potentially life changing decisions like that without parents' (parent's?) permission. Plain and simple. Once they are legally an adult, it's on them. And that's the way it should be everywhere.

Are you kidding me? It's a life changing decision that they will be responsible for for the rest of their lives. How can you say the teen shouldn't have a say in the biggest decision a person would ever have to make?

Because she's a teenager who isn't at the legal age of consent, aka adulthood. Logic and common sense seem to be lacking on the left.

“I want to protect these men from themselves,” Marzian, who is a nurse, told the Courier-Journal. “This is about family values,” she added. Mazian told Fox affiliate WDRB that House Bill 396 would also require that someone seeking Viagra, Cialis, Levitra or Avanafil “make a sworn statement with his hand on a Bible that he will only use a prescription for a drug for erectile dysfunction when having sexual relations with his current spouse.”

I heard through the grapevine that Billy Clinton has put a hit on this woman for trying to stop him from having sex.

I'm kidding, okay?

It seems you are the one lacking logic. A parent has no legal obligation to a grandchild once their child turns 18. Why you say the one legally liable for only a couple of years should make the decision for the person liable for the next 18 years on what amounts to a medical decision is beyond me.

Can a parent overrule their child's court process when they have been charged with a crime? Is there no such thing as medical emancipation for minors in our system? It's an asinine idea to say parents should be allowed to completely **** up their childs post-18 life and our court system prevents parents from doing that because of logic and common sense.

That's the point I was making, John. Sheesh. Until that child turns 18, she is the responsibility of her parent or parents.

You're lacking logic... Women can give their baby up for adoption and have *no* legal responsibility.

You could just take my approach....The instant my daughter starting dating? I demanded that either I or her mother take her to the doctor and do whatever was necessary to "protect her against her own stupidity". Her mother took care of it. No fcking way was I going to leave this issue to the decision making of a 16 year old. I know I made plenty of bad ones at that age and was luck as hell that I came out unscathed.

that still allows for the whole "nine months being pregnant" issue which is quite critical.

and that makes u a great parent.

however the parents who are put in this position because they didn't do what you did are not good parents. chances are if birth control is too "icky" for a parent then said parent is unlikely to favor abortion as well. which brings us back to our original problem.

Yeah, that doesn't mean that teens have no say. They can discuss the issue with their parents prior to having an abortion or not. They can also discuss contraception measures prior to getting knocked up. They can also choose to not have sex.

I knew you were going down this road and I'm not surprised.

it's the republican way to take this 100% stupid talking point. it's the exact same talking point as the advise & consent SCOTUS crap with Obama.

if you need approval of someone else before you can take a specific action that 100% means it is out of your hands. ==> no ifs, ands, or buts about this. anyone who says otherwise is an absolute moron.

the bold part is as true as any scientific law or mathematical equation. to deny it is to deny reality.

Incorrect. My wife, for example, got pregnant long before I met her. She talked things over with her mother, who wanted her to get an abortion but left it up to my wife ultimately. She ended up miscarrying a few weeks later.

It's 100% dependent on the relationship with the parents. Some will want her to proceed with an abortion others will not. I think it's important to keep parents involved with something this big. They have more knowledge and wisdom to help with a decision. Parents are required to sign off on just about everything else for minors so what's the problem with this?

and that mother gave her daughter permission by abstaining (no pun intended).

you are completely clueless if you want to nullify what is written into law based on that example. some marbles are red, some marbles are green. just because you have a red marble doesn't mean green ones don't exist.

you are trying to deny something as factual as a scientific law or a mathematical equation.

Murder... medical decision... yeah, same thing.

Amazing how many leftwing nuts are also Vegetarians because eating meat kills animals and They also won't eat eggs because they kill unborn Chickens yet Many of Them have Zero issues with Human Abortion that Kills unborn Human beings. Adoption is a far better alternative to Abortion for millions of People.

it is a medical decision. It has a permanent effect on your body, makes you incredibly uncomfortable for nine months, forces you to change clothes, puts at an increased risk of death, reduces chances of having a future child, and of course the pain involved.

yes it is 100% a medical decision because it has a major medical impact on someone.

Then spreading her legs to begin with is a medical decision. Think before you act.
