Football
- Finishes 2016 as #15 after runner-up in Cotton Bowl
- Tim Lester at the helm of talent / multiple top MAC recruiting classes
Hockey
- Current #6 going into 2/24/17 weekend
- Andy Murray getting kids to believe and play in his system
Basketball
- Tied for MAC west with tiebreakers in hand (as of this writing)
- Experienced Steve Hawkins making sure the kids know how to make a run

The foundation may be set.

Soccer, baseball, solar racing, plane racing, hot girls...what a university.

Football was, and still could be, headed to consistently being MAC title challenger, but lets see how Lester does first.

Hockey isn't a MAC sport, so while it's great to see WMU doing so well, doesn't mean anything as far as the "MAC."

Basketball is a 13-15 team that happens to be technically leading a mediocre division in a setup where divisions mean next to nothing. There is a chance the top four seeds in Cleveland could all be East teams.

Is this a joke? Top recruiting class? WMU's latest recruiting class was absolutely scraped once RTB left, that alone will put you guys back a year. And now the leading tackler is transferring...? Yikes, WMU has seen brighter days.

I wouldn't count on being at the top of the MAC consistently, necessarily, but the class Lester signed was still in the top half of the conference. It was gutted to some degree, yes, but a lot of MAC schools would gladly trade.

Fleck took 9 of the best recruits, and the class still finished in the top 2-4 range, depending on the recruiting service.

Lester did a fantastic job getting guys signed with very little time to do it.

As Bronco hoops continues to improve this could be the Golden Year that all others will be compared to. If the Broncos could win the MAC Tournament on the men's side (extremely unlikely for the women) that would be a heck of a Daily Double when coupled with an Acess Bowl or whatever they call those things. I think Hawkins is under appreciated and under rated as a coach.
