I am guessing that you did not graduate from Temple or actually might be Mike Vick and cannot count. In football you have split the series 2-2 while in the AAC. In hoops, you were swept this year.

This thread is about east and west divisions, so is irrelevant to basketball, no? And our football team has won the last 2 vs cincy, which in college football is known as a trend. And who the heck is Mike Vick?

Temple has had a good run the last couple of years, but lets not get carried away. Historically you are one of the worst programs in all of FBS. 07-coffee3

Just to be sporting and grant you every inference. Ok, so you did not take statistics. To suggest a two game trend amounts to 100 percent certainty for future events is not too bright. Michael Vick was a Heisman candidate and Philadelphia/Atlanta quarterback lost his nfl career to a large extent because he was an active member with dog fighting.

As a proud owner of a rescue Pit Bull/Husky mix, I will say that Michael Vick is a piece of s***.

The difference between Cincy and Temple?

...Cincy got invited to the Big East. Temple got kicked out.

I would prefer to switch spots with Navy, but Navy wouldn't want that. Switching spots with Tulane would leave the divisions way too unbalanced competitively, at least in the short term. That said, it's not really that big of a deal to me.

So, can I just say the obvious here...

Assuming UConn moves back to the BE and that the AAC forces UConn FB out to Independent status, that leaves 11 teams. (Which, hey, good for you, UConn!)

There'd be no reason for divisions at that point...the Big 10 made do just fine for a decade with 11 teams and no division. Just schedule a regular round-robin with teams alternating with their extreme counter-parts on off years and such.

No fuss, no muss.

If you are talking about 10 conference games, that would be a bad idea. The league would cannibalize itself every year and there would be very few opportunities for us to schedule P5 opponents.

Remember, Navy wanted to be in the West with the 3 other small private schools (Tulsa, Tulane and SMU), as all teams in the East are large public schools.

Nah... Like 8 or 9 conference games... It's doable, other conferences have done it.

Navy wanted to be in the West so that our national scheduling/recruiting wouldn't suffer too much from the new in-conference lack of scheduling flexibility. Texas and Tennessee already huge for us recruiting.

We already had a rivalry with SMU - Frank Ganz trophy and everything - and had previously played Tulane and Tulsa in the independent portion of the Johnson-Niumatalolo era (Navy's first overtime game was a loss to Tulsa).

Then you can consider that, yes, Tulsa Tulane and SMU more fit our profile of size and academics.
