Don't look now, but the UConn effect is beginning to take hold in the AAC, just as it did in the Big East. What began as a conference with essentially one super team and one other good team in USF, now sees several teams on the rise. Other programs are raising their game, and it is a beautiful thing:

American Standings
TEAM CONF OVERALL
Connecticut 13-0 26-0
Temple 11-2 21-5
USF 10-4 21-6
UCF 7-6 17-9
Cincinnati 7-6 16-10
Tulane 7-7 16-11

How many teams get in this year?

How does next year look?

Could we see a 4-5 bid league year in year out from this conference?

Super encouraging. We will get at least 3 bids this year...I think it will be 4 with Tulane landing on the right side of the bubble.

I believe this will be a 4 bid minimum league from here on out. Like jwawker said, it is eerily similar to how the old Big East came to be a WBB power.

Love this! Definitely the UConn effect.

I think you'll see Houston and SMU in there before long.
