When Georgia Tech hired Pastner I came over here and complimented the hire. It looks like I called it. He was perfect for Georgia Tech!

Georgia Tech beats Syracuse to inch closer to the NCAA Tournament. Josh Pastner looks like a lock for ACC Coach of the Year. Impressive.

Random fact: There are six active Hall of Fame coaches. Josh Pastner has now coached against five of them and beaten three of them.

You win this round. But he better keep the assistants around if he wants to continue this and start recruiting big names instead of just always talking about recruiting.

Pastner is definitely a candidate but I wouldn't consider him a lock yet. I don't think that you can overlook Buzz at VT yet. Both are currently 7-7 in the ACC but VT has the better overall record (VT 18-8/GT 16-11). Not to mention Brey & Hamilton. GT turnaround is impressive though.

Josh Pastner should and will win. He will remain at GT until he wins the National Title and from there he will be the next President of the United States of America.

CJP ACC COY should be a lock, buzz at VT was expected to win games, GT was suppose to win ZERO!!!

The thing is, if Pastner deserves it this year, then Buzz should have won it last year. I wouldn't be upset if Pastner won the award, but I do think Buzz is a good candidate this year.

We entered the year without KJ Blackshear, lost another minor contributor in Hamilton (who was the backup big) and as a result have played an 8-man rotation this year with one true center. Then you lose Chris Clarke in the heart of the ACC schedule.

If Buzz gets this team to 10 league wins running a 7-man rotation the rest of the way, I think he's very deserving of Coach of the Year. I'm certainly biased, but those are the arguments for Buzz.

Pitt is in 13th place in the ACC and beaten Virginia, FSU, Syracuse, Maryland, and Marquette. Think about that.

ACC is deepest league top to bottom ever in CBB.

They should give it to Gottfried as a parting gift.

You could give it to RW for winning the conference, no easy feat with any team.
