Agreed. I think the guy is great but it has only been one year. I recall over paying for a BB coach because the potential going forward looked to be great. A sample size of one year doesn't make much sense when trying to predict future results.

The University is not making that mistake again. Calm down even if he gets an extension and raise does not mean that the new school that wants him will not pay his buyout. If they want him they will and I wish him all the good fortune in the world. He is a good coach and recruiter and we will find another one just like him or better.

Memphis is and always will be 1 bad hire away from football (and now basketball) oblivion.

One bad hire can undo years of good work.

What does that mean? One bad hire doesn't put us into oblivion. We had a ton of bad football hires, and one good hire got us to the top of the G5 ranks.

Sure a bad hire undoes years, and kills momentum. Where is that not true?

Compare FB revenue in last 5 years vs basketball revenue (including REQUIRED per seat donation) and that will tell you the difference between the two.

Hope it is true but we need to learn to stop some offenses first.

I just want to beat Navy.

When have we ever finished at the top of the G5?

We finished 5th in our own conference the last two seasons

We finished 5th in our own conference the last two seasons

For the past 3 years, we have been in the top echelon of G5 schools. We have the highest CFP ranking ever for any G5. We won a conference championship in the toughest G5 conference. We were listed last week as the top G5 program. We have one of the top 2-3 recruiting classes this year in the G5. Like it or not, we are at the top level of the G5.

Welcome to the board, though.

I agree, over the past 5 years, but that trend is changing. Football is on the upswing (We finally have administration that cares about football), and for the past 3 years basketball donations and season ticket sales have dropped tremendously. My wish and hope, is for both sports to start making money toward the bottom line. It can be done and IMO, will be done.
