RE: WAC Baseball 2017
CSUB denies NMSU a shared WAC regular season title winning game 3 13-8. Feels good.

As expected, the Cougars finish the year on an amazing hot streak going 1-8 in their last 9 games, and missing out on the WACt by a game. They would've made it in had they won today due to losses by UTRGV and SU.

Every year we choke it away. This is why I think our coach should be replaced already.

RE: WAC Baseball 2017
Congrats GCU on the regular season title. Congrats Ags on the series 2-1. Conventional wisdom says the Ags are the favorites. We'll see how it goes. Now the pitching strategy changes a bit to tourney mode. Hoping for a good, exciting tourney. I think a sleeper is SU, if they stay hot at the bat and limit bonehead errors, they could win it. Best wishes to all.

Yeah, would've like to see UTRGV in as well. I think we're both tired of sitting near the bottom!

Hornets locked up the 3 seed with the win yesterday. Hornets go into the WACT on a 4 game winning streak, and a 5 game WAC winning streak. Disappointing year for us by our standards, but maybe we can get a couple more wins and finish over 30 wins on the year.

Know the feeling. Even with turmoil with coaching, still a bit disappointed the 'Runners didn't do a little better in conference specifically. I guess I hoped our pitching should have been stronger, although I was pleasantly surprised about how Carter worked out so well this year. We too haven't hit the 30 win mark....the cancelled Creighton series didnt help.

Hopefully the California schools can make some headway in the tourney next week. 04-cheers

Tourney starting tomorrow.
So, who is your pick for sleeper to win this besides the top seed?

IMO, if Seattle can put good games together,
I'd choose them. They looked good talent wise in Bako a week ago, but not execution wise.

Weather will be brutally hot tomorrow (106 degrees), just under 100 Thursday, and in the mid-90s through the weekend. WAC missed temps in the upper 70s to mid 80s by exactly one week. Tell those boys to hydrate!

Hot here too, 103° today, but were supposed to cool into lower 80s by Thurs. Not sure about Phx later in week. Hopefully, Runners will be "conditioned" for Mesa.

And yup, he's gone.

The Monitor: "Mantrana stepping down as UTRGV baseball coach after nine seasons."

http://www.themonitor.com/sports/article...f42f9.html

Sounds more like he is just ....transitioning to another job. I wonder if he was ...strongly encouraged to move.

WAC reply to a fans question about tourney announcers.

WAC‏Verified account @WACSports
Replying to @bigddan11

@bigddan11 Michael Potter (GCU’s baseball announcer) will do majority. Corey Costelloe will do the 1st day. Erin Slack is sideline reporter.

Alright guys, its your last chances to hear Costelloe this season. Don't miss out!

RE: WAC Baseball 2017
Sac State pretty much manhandled Seattle tonight, mercy-ruling them 11-2. This was pretty much what I saw a week ago with SU, issues executing. IMO, if they could fix that for next year, they might be pretty good. The Hornets looked strong in this game all around.

If my 'Runners don't win it, I'm rooting for my CSU brothers, Sacramento.

As I watched last night on WDN, it was Potter, not Corey. Evidently they switched nights.

Grand Canyon baseball's 20-4 record best in WAC since Rice won 2003 College World Series....

I took this from Richard Obert twitter and don't feel bad about it being that he rips off other ppl's twitter stuff all the time.... #Shade
