MyBB Largest blown lead since?
17 points.

In Louisville game in 2012, Memphis had a 14 point lead.

I can't find anything else that crazy.

I'm thinking the game at the Pyramid vs. UTk in 1997 when the fight broke out. Memphis had a pretty big lead (28-12??) but I can't find any actual stories that show that.

Any other games come to mind?

Rough one for sure. Our slow grind it out style should thrive in a game like this.....vs a crappy UConn team poorly coached.....AND with a lead!!! 03-banghead03-hissyfit

02-13-banana I feel the same way about football as I do about basketball leads. Why back off when you have the lead? Why not stay with what got you the lead in the first place? It seems most every time you start to try and protect a lead and play not to lose you change the emotions of the players and the continuity of the game. I have not seen that approach work in a lot of the games that I have watched. The outcome often comes out with negative results. Oh well, I am certainly not a coach and don't know a lot of the behind the scenes reasons. I only know what I see as far as the results go.

For a average BB fan, this post is dead on. We CAN'T run a half court offense because we don't have a guard who can get it started. We were running, getting TOs, and hustling on D. That resulted in transition points (including several of the 3's we hit). Then we just sat on the ball and everyone watched Martin struggle to even get a pass off for I don't know how many possessions-and Tubby continued with THAT.

This team cannot score in the half court so we cannot slow it down...Not sure why he still tries to.

But UConn also quit turning the ball over as well though.

Holding the ball on offense can also lead to being lax on defense. Frustration sets in and they don't get out on shooters or help out on drivers. I saw all of this in the second half. Most of Adams 3s were wide open.

Hey, give UConn and their coach some credit here. He made adjustments at the half and it killed out ability to get out and run in transition which is one of our few strengths.

We didn't change our strategy in the second half, they took us out of what we wanted to do.

We just folded like a cheap card table and got beat.

Of course blowing the 17 point lead to GT allowed Memphis to play the Tubby Smith led UK Wildcats.

Iirc it was an afternoon game on a weekday, so it might not have been one of those games I was super ready to watch, so it isn't burned into my memory.
