He can watch but he'll never have Larry's outside skills at this level and he'll never have Larry's motor.

Dedric needs to play the 4. If he played the whole game in the paint he could be a 30/15 guy in college.

Comparing Dedric to Larry Bird is ludicrous, asinine, dumb and stupid. Larry and Magic were the beginning of the modern era of college basketball and brought the NBA back from the dead. Don't even go there.

Yup. We are comparing a guy who is leaving to play in the G-League to an all-time NBA great.

For Dedric to do that he better fall in love with the weight room...

Right now contact throws him off of his course too easily and hopefully we get some help on the boards and he will not need to grab 10 rebounds a game anymore.

For those who want to see what Dedric could be turn on the Clippers and Spurs. Just saw him shoot a 3 from Dedrics favorite spot on the floor and jog back like Dedric.

No, we are comparing two people who are close in height, and neither one, and I quote "can't run, can't jump and are slow".

So unless you guys are saying they aren't close in height, and Larry Bird could run like a deer, jump like a kangaroo, and was fast, well.......

Larry had great basketball SKILLS and one of greatest work ethics in NBA history. Dedric does not.

I know I'm getting old but it seemed to me like I've seen a lot of highlights of Bird running the break for the Celtics. Probably the best passing forward of all time. He wasn't as slow and unathletic as many think.

Just because he ran the break doesn't mean he was fast, it means he had the ball. I'm on my phone, don't want to try and post the clip with the above quote in it from one of Larry's teammates.

Well, WTH is your point? They were close to same size and that's it? Great point that really contributes to thread.

Amen. I know he and Magic are good friends now but Magic this year called him the greatest player of all time.

Larry Bird is my favorite player, but athletic he was not.

Not the clip I was thinking about, but it will do:
