Rockets control their fate
UT plays their MAC West rivals to close out their season and can easily win out and win the west.

Prediction: we split these, finish in the middle of the pack, win one game in MACMadness then lose the second and close out with another ho-hum .500 season

37 years and counting

5 games left.
One game under .500 in the MAC currently.
Need to go 3-2 to finish at 9-9 in the MAC.
3 of the games at home.
Our record this season against these 5 teams left = 1-4.

Rockets will need to dig deep & gut it out to finish at 9-9...and, that would be an improvement over last season.

Still confused how we're "tied" for the lead in the west? Or at lease was until last night. Haven't dug into the standings.

This could go one of several ways for Toledo:

Win 3 remaining Home Games and sweep 2 winnable Road Games at NIU and EMU, who are both reeling right now, to finish 11-7 and most likely a 1st Round Bye to Cleveland.

Win 3 remaining Home Games and 1 of 2 Road Games to finish 10-8 and have a good chance for a First Round Bye to Cleveland.

Win 3 remaining Home Games and lose both remaining Road Games to finish 9-9 and possibly a First Round Home Game, depending on Tie Breakers with the other 9-9 Finishers which could be several teams.

Loss 3 or more games to finish 8-10 (or worse) and we will be on the road for a First Round Tournament Game.

I feel confident, based on their past performance, that they can win their 3 remaining home games against WMU, CMU and BS. But I feel less confident that they can win one or both of their road games based on them not being able to finish out close road games recently at BS, BG and Akron.

Me too. We're playing well but without Garber, Steve is playing way too many minutes and we fade at the end of games.

We almost absolutely need a first round home game to advance and with Garber back... who knows :)
