RE: Would WKU and Marshall leave for the MAC?
Average income for Non P5 Schools... making the leap to MAC or Sunbelt makes little sense.

I still think Liberty would perfect for the Sun Belt.

However, C-USA would be splitting the money less ways then so it would be a small advantage in that department.
Either this guy is a troll or he has no understanding of the history between the MAC and Marshall. In 1997 Marshall rejoined the MAC (Members from 54-68), it was our 2 fall back plan. Marshall applied to CUSA in both 95 and 96, to be full members. We actually had the votes until Bobby Crimins at Louisville started belly aching and then that pulled 2 school from voting for us and leaving us a vote short. We were extended a football only but neither the Horizon or Summit League would accept us as Olympic sports members. Even though the Horizon had just lost Eastern Illinois to the OVC and Troy State to the TAAC (A Sun).

Central Michigan
Ohio

Marshall
WKU

The MAC could rid itself of some dead weight (the BG's, Eastern Michigans and Kent States of the world) to expand footprint, and hopefully increase prestige....
Had the MAC done as Bobby Pruett suggested in 2001, we may have stayed in the MAC and never left. At that time Pruett called for a 10 school MAC by dropping EMU, CMU and Buffalo, the 3 weakest schools at the time. That would have left:
Toledo
BGSU
Akron
Kent State
Miani Ohio
Marshall
Ohio
Ball State
Western Michigan
Northern Illinois
And if you would have wanted to get it to 9 and a full round robin schedule then you either drop Ball State or Kent State. Wasn't even thought of or brought up and the traditional MAC schools fans laughed at the idea.
And truthfully there is only 1 school I really even care playing from the MAC and that's Ohio, although I would never get upset if we have a chance to beat the cow patties of Oxford OH, Little Miami or Toledo.
You want the MAC to take advice from the same Bobby Pruitt that cheated like crazy and got Marshall slapped with probation (AGAIN) and then he deserted the sinking ship to watch Marshall struggle for years. I can't believe how Marshall fans still can love this guy.

If C-USA could fix the TV situation I'd be fine right here.
ESPN 3 is pretty awesome!

Bobby Pruett had nothing to do with the violations. And what we were slapped for I'm sure every power 5 school does and its never even thought of as a violation. As far as Pruett goes I lost all respect for him after the 98 season when he tried to covertly take the Houston job in the middle of the night and not get caught. There are some, not many Marshall fans like me.

You honestly believe that Pruett had no idea what was going on? Come on you can't be serious? Pruett had very close ties to the owner of the company. So much so that he would make sales calls during the off season with the reps of the company. I know that for a fact because that company's rep use to call on an account my mother worked for and he was brought in to meet her. Of course my mother did tell the rep that he must be aware that she is a Bobcat fan. Truth that rep was one of my mothers favorites in spite of the fact he brought Crooked Bobby in to meet her.

How does getting a kid a job to pay for school translate to success on the football field? It doesn't. Most of the kids involved rarely played. The NCAA didn't make us give up any victories or titles. You OU fans are just pissed since your program was about as good as Gallia Academy back in the days of Cleve Bryant and Brian Knorr and you haven't won a MAC crown since 68. Move along junior.

Run along Kitty and get you some pot (What Athens OH is known for). I don't remember anyone here inviting you here for a pissing contest and that's what you tried to start. Go back to your lil 23K seat stadium that hasn't seen a MAC Championship in 48 years. Your so call savior of the Football program is 72 (Frank "The Drunkard" Solich) and will retire in a few years and you can go out and find you a new Cleve Bryant, Tom Lichtenberg or Brian Knorr and fight for 5th place in the east of the MAC with Kent State and Buffalo.

Apparently I have struck a nerve! Shows what you know about pot in the area. That would be what Meigs county is known for. Beside does someone from Huntington really want to through stones related to local drug use.
