Legacy recruiting
With all the talk of Epperson's kid visiting UT, it got me to thinking the over the past 40 years UT has had some pretty good players. My fandom only goes back 25 yrs, but from memory I don't think we have had any legacy recruits where sons or daughters came to UT to play. Maybe our basketball alumni aren't birthing basketball stars, but you would think somewhere along the line we'd have a young Knuckles, Selgo or Fernando Regetto carry on the UT tradition. Doesn't Casey Shaw and Dana Drew have a bunch of kids nearing graduating age? Jay Lehman had at least one son who went to a smaller school Ferris St., but he was competitive.

In football we are getting a Rosi this year. Way back we had Ealy's son who didn't see the field much.

RE: Legacy recruiting
Basketball players can be well traveled, there's many professional levels that take them to new homes. Epperson being a convenient example. Not many stay or return home. Sykes, Hopson, Komives, Ben Williams, none of whom went to UT. I keep thinking I'm missing someone obvious. Chris Pollenitz would be an "almost.

Casey Shaw and Dana Drew should have a few coming of age by now.

Ok, so a few fooball examples. But none in basketball? You would think just by dumb luck, we'd have had a couple come here via the blue and gold brick road.

I think it's pretty anecdotal for any school. Rick Berry, how many different schools has he sent kids? Walton's kid didn't even go to UCLA.

RE: Legacy recruiting
Probably right. But wonder if any of our bball alumni even have DI level kids? Walton's kid was at least a decent college and pro player.

Dana's brothers are the head coaches at Baylor and Valparaiso. They may want to play for one on their uncles.

Al Baker TE, on the undefeated teams. Made a sizable donation for Larimer upgrade. Hence, the Al Baker Tight Ends Meeting Room. Baker fils hit a buzzer beating 3 against Miami in Oxford. I just told my wife that we NEVER made last second shots about ten seconds before he did.

Trivia question: Who threw the inbounds pass that Baker stole and shot? ( He shot the ball, not the guy who threw the pass.)
