aw man, i forgot about how badly Murphy used to ride Thompson. it didn't make sense to me. Same with Charles Ramsey and Jesse Bunkley. the sound of Ramsey yelling "JESSE! JESSE!" over and over again is burned into my brain.

is Bond the king of hitting ugly/ill-advised shots? that baseline runner looked bad for multiple reasons but he hit it, as usual.

Thompson sat on the bench because he couldn't guard a soul. Murphy is a defense first type of coach.

RE: GameDay: Akron
Anyway, nice way to finish the half.

If we had gotten the call (jump ball with Big Dog very late in the half) we'd have the lead at the half...

At one time Akron was 7 - 13 behind the arc. Not 7 - 16. That really helped EMU get back in the game.

Down 1 at half. Not too bad. Pretty fun game to watch. Decent vibe tonight.

None of us know why Lee was suspended, but my hunch is he mouthed off out of frustration from his ill treatment particularly as his college career is coming to a close. Just a hunch. In any case, his career is closing on a crying shame. Hopefully me keeps his composure and comes back on tear to close out the season.

Sound like if he was an Akron player the coach would say: Zip the lip...

If I were a betting man I'd be inclined to guess that. We don't know what happens in practice when the television cameras aren't on...

Well do you have any information to suggest the two suspensions this year were unfair or undeserved?

Nope....But I've attended the games and watched Lee play hard, do well and get benched. Reminds me of Dereck Thompson several years ago.

Well said, Luckey!

1) that is a funny joke! I enjoyed that.

2) I stated it was just a hunch. So no I don't know what happened for sure- nor do you. But as Luckey said, I have seen how Lee is mistreated by Murphy on the court. Seems a logical extrapolation that his suspension is somehow unfair as well.

Toney drove to the hoop despite 6 guys standing in the paint. that is the perfect example of why we need a different offense.

That's BS

RE: GameDay: Akron
Akron has solved our zone. every shot they hit is with feet set and shoulders squared to the hoop. they're hot for sure, but these are all good shots. the only garbage bucket was the one off the glass in the first half.

Zips are now 18 - 33 behind the arc. :(

I believe the Zips shot less than 50% from the FT line in the game at Akron.

RE: GameDay: Akron
EMU shot well enough to win, but Akron shot lights out, esp. big time behind the arc.

Akron was the better team and it showed. they moved the ball well and hit their shots once the ball got to the open man.

RE: GameDay: Akron
Remember the time when when EMU went to the NCAA tourny, battled for conference championships, and beat teams like Syracuse, MSU, duke, Wisconsin, etc??? I do.

The reality is that the only way we'll ever see those days again is if a change in leadership is made.

Akron is the much better coached team!

RE: GameDay: Akron
Question: How many 3 point field goals must the other team make to get EMU out of their zone?

Answer:. I am not sure but let's start with greater than 18 ( unbelievably sad)

When a defense leaves a D1 shooter open to collect his feet and shoot in rhythm, they'll make at least 85℅ all day!!!

Can't blame Lee for his poor defense tonight....
