playing Div. 1 basketball on 2016/2017 rosters; with the help of ESPN. I think ECU should be able to find some home grown talent that can play in the AAC. This would in turn energize the fan base more in the state of NC. Take a look.

Here's your problem. You're assuming Lebo gives a shite. Pretty sure he said BamBam or some else near by wasn't good enough but as soon as other schools started offering he was right in the mix trying to recruit the same kid.

I will never understand why ECU can't be good at basketball. You guys have potential to be a good place for basketball.

The season before ECU entered into the AAC Jeff Lebo was talking about retiring. I don't know why he still attends ECU games and sits on the bench with the ECU players, but from the way that he coaches; I am pretty sure that he has actually retired.

Seen this before with our past football coach. Very frustrating. 03-banghead And btw, can never give enough thanks for Gary Clark.

We can be. We're in a better home for college basketball than we've ever been. Our problem now: our basketball coach isn't talented at coaching basketball.

He can't recruit. In his 20ish years as a head basketball coach he has had sub 250 ranking in turnovers all but like 3 times. If he has a team that doesn't have deadeye 3-point shooters, he can't win.

3 of Temple's 4 signees for the class of 2017 are from North Carolina. Very random.

I noticed this too.

Any prospective ECU coach has a great AAC footprint to build that program from, including their local footprint.

There really is no recruiting excuse for Lebo.

There's no in-game coaching excuse either, but here we are.

I'm really starting to think he may take an exit after this season. It's been set up for that to happen rather smoothly

That's probably ECU's only hope.

SI's Pete Thamel was speculating today: "Jeff Lebo has gone 19 seasons without an NCAA tournament appearance, a streak than spans time at Tennessee Tech, Chattanooga, Auburn and the last seven years at East Carolina. That’s a spectacular statistic in modern college basketball, to go four jobs and nearly two decades without an NCAA appearance. Lebo is out indefinitely with hip surgery, which makes evaluating this drab Pirates season difficult. The Pirates are 13–15 and 5–10 in league play. This is year seven for Lebo in Greenville. He’d be owed about $2 million over the four years remaining in his contract, a large amount for an AAC school. With ECU having upgraded his facilities and Lebo not coaching since January, giving him an extra year appears more likely than not.
Chance he’s fired: 30%"
