You like the press again? You OK with Bryan's minutes? We still taking too many 3s? Chris rebounded, the team held together, and we are going to be fine.

I've always liked the press, would rather see Chuck, we still rely too much on 3's, but I believe we are built for success in a tournament. We can run for 40 minutes and have proved we can do it for three days in a row. I still trust Keatts and his system. He's the coach. I'm the fan. Go Seahawks.

RE: Is everybody back off the ledge?
I'm still on the ledge right now until our D is better. Hawks have to guard dribble penetration better IMHO.

Crushing a sad Delaware squad at home while nice, doesn't really prove much IMO. We have to play well against good teams. And besides we all know it was about be yellow jerseys :)

Like it or not, we're going to press. I agree with others that have said, the press isn't our issue on defense. Likewise, we're going to take a lot of threes. We don't have anyone on our team that is dependable with their back to the basket (e.g. Cacok's 5th foul against CoC). Both of those are fundamental to Keatts, and their isn't any point complaining.

In a situation like Bryan and Chuck, I just have to trust Keatts.

RE: Is everybody back off the ledge?
We were on the ledge. The blowout loss to Wiliam and Mary and home loss to CofC in front of a fantastic Trask crowd to pretty much nail down first place and take a three game lead, proves we were right to be on the ledge. Fact is, we had gotten away from our game prior to the losses, and ended up in some close games we should have blown out. Flemmings had become timid, everyone was relying on Ingram and Bryce, we were shooting 3's and jumpers almost exclusively, and we simply didn't look all that good.

The players and Keatts realized we went over the ledge as well. Hence the yellow jerseys, Keatts starting Fornes, Ingram playing distributor instead of scorer, Flemmings attacking the basket as well as shooting 3's, and our guys running a press with energy and aggressiveness for the first time in awhile.

We looked like the team that was on the verge of a top 25 rating again. I'm glad Keatts, the players and the fans realized we were going over the ledge, otherwise we'd have kept doing what we were doing. Now, we need to follow up with the same aggressiveness against JMU to keep this rolling.

The two game skid was pretty damaging. UNCW needed to run the table to have a chance at an at-large bid in the event that we came up (slightly ) short in the CAA Tournament. That's now over. So in that sense, we did go over the edge and there's no coming back from that this season.

The next test is winning the CAA regular season title (and the accompanying automatic NIT bid that come with that). Everyone thumbs their nose at the NIT...except everyone who would play their if only they were invited. At this point there's really no margin of error for that.

Winning the #1 seed would be a first. We have unfortunately given it away the past 2 years. I think this is our year.

Charleston currently has the tiebreaker, which is unfortunate. Gotta keep winning and maybe get a little help somewhere.

Charleston has a home game against Northeastern followed by a tough road matchup against W&M this week. They haven't played NU yet, and beat W&M 77-67 at home earlier in the season.

Counting on the Tribe to play them tough in Williamsburg. NU will play them tough in at least one of those games too, IMO.

The game @ Northeastern is their best shot. Pretty sure T.J. Williams and a few others are still banged up for the Huskies, but they all might be 100 % by the time Charleston hits the road for Boston.

How do they hold the tiebreaker, when 3rd. place is still completely up in the air?

Because they have the better record against those teams combined. Charleston has a 4-1 record against Towson, Elon and W&M cumulatively while we're 3-1.

A lot of that will get shaken out in the remaining 6 games, as I doubt there will be a 3-way tie for 3rd for long. But for the moment Charleston is the # 1 seed.

Ok. But those teams have to play each other still, so third place will not be a tie between those three as they knock each other out of contention. My bet is Towson emerges in 3rd., which means if we win out, we own the tiebreaker over CofC.

Still 6 games left for both teams. Not ending today and a lot will change between now and the last game.

Easy there. We still have not beaten Towson the second time. We are not immune to losing at home.

This thread is about being on the ledge, swampcougar. Please try to stay on topic, and hit the panic button as you see fit.

We're back off the ledge, so i'm now predicting total domination to finish the season. Otherwise, I may as well remain on the ledge.
