Single Wing has already been advocated.

Nobody wants to watch the Wing. A buddy of mine went to Georgia Tech and says the games are miserable to watch.

It's effective, it wins, but yes those who are weened on our aggressive passing games find it somewhat boring. I'm results oriented, not style oriented.

Georgia Tech doesn't run a Wing-T offense.

They run the Flexbone (modern version of the Wishbone).

Your buddy sounds like somebody who would rather see a long incompletion than a well-blocked and executed option play that gains five yards-plus.

And be entertained rather than win.

Lester isn't going to any version of a run-oriented offense.

Just a balanced one.

And for some of you "experts" - we haven't run a "Read-Option" offense except when Flacco was in the game.

Never Terrell.

Stay real close to the existing O.

The run and pass blocking have been very effective, the guys really are executing fabulous with it.

Tweak it, fine tune it, but don't wreck up what has been successful.

Remember, we are a very veteran team at this point, and although Wassink has no game time, he has two years in and has worked a full year with the WR 2's stepping up.

Same concept and the other drawback is you can't play catch up with that style offense. The game has changed. Personel has to be drastically different to pull it off. If you can't execute, you can lose REAL BAD.

I will stick to a balanced offense where the run can set up the pass and vice versa.

I think our offense is going to be just fine. It will be balanced. I know that Johns was the QB coach and offensive coordinator at Indiana and Wilson may have called the plays, but I remember the Michigan game a couple years ago and Indiana ran the ball down UM's throat with Jordan Howard. I think Johns is smart enough to use what's working and working with Wilson I'm sure taught him a lot. And he did a hell of a job with Nate Sudfeld and Richard Lagow.

Ciarrocca really knows what he is doing with QB's. I guarantee that Wassink is further along than we probably believe.

Has Flacco's departure been confirmed? If it's true, that's a strange one to me. He has as good an opportunity to start next season as anyone.

Quote:If what I am hearing is true, and Flacco intends to leave the program, that presents WMU with a bit of an issue at QB.

A good backup? Or possibly lacking what could prove to be a benefit of having a 2QB system for a while getting situated during non-conf, etc? Yeah.

But if we were going to ride on Flacco being The QB as our best option, I think that would be "a bit of an issue" at QB. :)

I got beat-up for suggesting the Single Wing. Let whatever happens, happen. Some have narrow comfort zones.

Single wing may work as your horse I see runs with two legs.

Apparently Arizona thought enough of him to give him a shot. Wish we would've gave him an offer after Winn backed out. http://tucson.com/sports/arizonawildcats...6dab9.html

From what I see ... I don't think Flacco is headed anywhere. Makes this argument and disappointment moot... should be a fun QB battle this offseason...

My original comment from 2-1 was a reply to someone's post regarding a rumor of Flacco leaving, which I believe is the OP. Did anyone even read the K'hari Lane story or look at his video? If Flacco is still in he only has 2 yrs of eligibility meaning we still need to develop QB depth.
