I will say that today officially marks the beginning of Tim Lester's WMU football legacy. He had to pick up some pieces to hold together a first year recruiting class that really was ravaged by the outgoing staff and did as well as can be expected.

However I don't judge Tim on this years class. He landed some late commitments to keep us near the top of the MAC in a year we had all gone "sky is falling" on the 2017 commitment list ... especially after PJ raided the cupboards on his way out the door. Hats off to Tim and staff for holding it together.

This was not an easy transition... CMU, Toledo and NIU all were able to continue their strong seasons in the past by handing off the torch to staff members that were part of the recruiting process when the HC left... therefore they kept system and recruiting in motion... Lester had to bring in an almost entirely new staff... and in such a short period of time as the NSD clock was ticking down quickly... Also impressive.

Today in my mind officially starts Tim Lester's reign as WMU's HC... Time to grab the reigns and get back to work building up these players. Still curious to see how our new S&C coach works out... We built this culture on strength, speed and endurance... we seemed to out muscle our MAC brethren as the games closed out... Long drives in the trenches... I really hope we continue commitment to that aspect of the program...

With Lester I definitely think we are in good hands...

Considering he had about 3-4 weeks to work with, following the departure of a very popular Head Coach, this class is AMAZING. Don't forget he had to bring in an entire staff in that time period.

Hats off to Lester, he cleared the first 8 hurdles in this race!
