The end of National Signing Day as we know it—and why that’s good; Punt, Pass & Pork
Some interesting things in the proposal. If December has the 3 day period where a player could sign it may alter the "dropping of players" (bad for the kids) many coaches do in having backups for positions in case they don't get the players they really want. It also may affect coaches leaving for better jobs if the players they recruited already signed with the school they intend to leave. Players that sign early will no longer be following the coach to the new destination if they already signed.

As so done who used to work with players I hate this .. Coaches are coercive every middling or lower recruit will be pressured into signing on early signing day
Smu already has a rule that if you take any other visits after commiting your offer will be pulled ...I can already see coaches saying "if your committed sign early, if you don't want to sign it shows you aren't committed"
Kids will be forced into signing early when they might not be ready because they fear losing them
But from an athletic standpoint this is amazing for a school like Houston who has shown they can get touted guys to commit early, and then losses them on late pushes by P5
If there was an early signing period between this recruitibg and the last alone, wed have had 8 more 4star players coming in including a top 50 recruit who was a WR
