RE: Next Years WR's
I'm probably not as worried as most about the receiver position next year for two reasons:
1.) I see us running the football more than ever, and
2.) we are absolutely loaded at WR talent wise. Only thing lacking is experience.
You may recall, Dee Eskridge actually scored our first touchdown of the season at NW. He took a short pass in the flat, got the corner and tiptoed down the sideline. Watch that highlight and you'll see his breakneck speed on full display.
His playing time seemed to tail off as the year went on though and I'm not really sure why...

4 WR sets against Wisconsin on 3rd down was a disaster.

I agree.
We've got more experience out there than people realize with Ernsberger, Eskridge and Watson. It'll be a battle with Curtis and Ricci too. This whole unit will push each other.

They were too big at DL, we needed to get the ball in the air as quick as possible and 4 WRer sets are just too slow to take advantage of. Too many options. The extra man was much more effective in our backfield or TE as an extra blocker.

I agreed with the strategy of opening up the offense with the pass, which is contrary to our philosophy. I was very surprised that we were able to run as well as we did in the second half.
