The opener has been moved to Friday, hopefully this means one of the ESPN family is going to televise it.
If you include ESPN3, then the answer is definitely yes.
All our home games are available on television or webcasting (mostly ESPN3).
That Friday (Labor Day weekend) will probably have a number of games so I doubt a network like CBSSN, ESPNU, etc. would pick it up...
Just my guess.

Actually, I guess I can't even guarantee we will have a home game against Miami in 2018...
In my opinion (and it's only my opinion), the MAC stacks the inter-divisional games based on who they think has a shot to go to Detroit and who doesn't and tries to avoid having the top teams in each division play each other. Either to inflate the records or minimize the chance of a rematch or both.
In NIU's 6 year run of MAC West titles, they never once played the team they met in Detroit in the regular season. The only time it looked like it would happen was in 2010 when they beat Temple in Dekalb, but then Temple peed down their leg against Ohio in the last MAC East game, sending Miami instead.

Spring ball begins March 7. Spring game April 8.
Nineteen days to the beginning of spring ball.
Most everyone going home for a week, after tomorrow's practice, for Spring break. Good 9 days off to recover before getting back on the 27th for a light workout week, prior to the start of Spring ball.

RE: 2017 EMU pre-Spring ball FB Thread
Last spring game we got to see the new defense debut and it was impressive, the kicking looked horrible, Roback wasn't as sharp as Porter, the offensive line got pushed around and the star WRs of the game left the team the following month!
Still hoping we had another JUCO OL, but it will be interesting to see this year's spring game and how the biggest question on next year's team (the offensive line) performs.

Spring game is probably very overrated.
It is one 'game' and can't extrapolate one season from something which is not even close to a game, but an intra-squad scrimmage.
It reminds me of spring training in MLB. I'm STILL trying to figure out what we learn from those games???? Perhaps are players who were injured last year healthy this year? Maybe a few top rookies who might be ready to bloom.

DL will be even more dominant, especially in the Spring. Hope you're right about another Juco OT. Really interested to see how the back 8 of the defense comes together. A lot of depth and experience back there now.

Dear steve,
This is just my opinion, but I think the coaches are looking at who has good blocking technique, who has the ability to get open as a receiver, who has good pursuit on defense, who can find the open receiver as a quarterback. The after looking at the film of the game, use that to make players better at their position.
These games have changed from forty years ago when they were going full speed ahead, and with tackling. Not today. Coaches don't want to risk unnecessary injuries.

I agree with you. I think they (coaches) have very, very different perspective than do fans.
Without getting wonkish, but a full bore spring game is like playing TWO games. Would have 22 (not 11) players at any time at risk of injury.
As he all know, the players have gotten bigger, stronger, faster, etc. and the risk of injury keep going up because of the laws of physics.

Good info on Grant Long. Had multiple eye surgeries with detached (and re-detached) retina, etc.

If our offensive line comes together, we will battle Toledo for the MAC Championship.
Go Eagles!

As I surmised Mike Smith Jr is now on the OL, really be nice to get another JUCO OL before the season starts, the only real area of concern and need for this team.
PS updated weights after the winter conditioning would be nice, not a criticism, just a suggestion.
