I stopped by Buster's Bookstore in the Bernhard Center this week.
90% of the shirts & apparel in the store are still BLACK.

A few football items were on sale. Most were not.

As much as I love my black and gold hoodie that I bought back when I was a student, the older more mature me would enjoy having a brown and gold sweatshirt with the university seal on it. I'd also like a new BMB shirt. Hopefully the bookstore can help me with both next time I am on campus.

Looks like RTB is going to Minnesota. We BETTER have had them PAY for it!!

RTB was fun, but I'm over it. Let PJ have it. I've noticed "We Will Reign" being used a lot more since Lester was hired. If this is our new thing, I'm all in.

bkstr.com/westernmichiganstore has a brown sweatshirt with university seal that says "WESTERN MICHIGAN ALUMNI" on it.

Doesn't have XL though.

I've been running into that more than I would have expected at the bookstore (I'm an XL). I bought the sweatshirt you shared for my uncle a couple Christmases ago - he loves it! I'm a fan of the sweatshirt below, but the store doesn't have an online store. It's sharp, but I'd rather give the WMU Bookstore my money I guess.

That is my style shirt too. Classic seal. I would like it in yellow with brown lettering though.

The beautiful thing with We Will Reign is that it is actually relevant to WMU. RTB ended up being neat enough, but I didn't really get what it had to do with WMU, Broncos, or Kalamazoo when I first heard about it. As cool as the Row the Boat chant at the MAC Championship was, We Will Reign will just sound cool and tough if it catches on!

Not to geek out, or go all PJ with "new traditions", but WWR could be a cool participation chant in the line of Sparty's Go Green, Go White .... or tastes great, less filling:

I'm not so sure on that. RTB was completely new when PJ came, he HAD to sell it hard because no one knew what he was talking about. It became a part of WMU culture because he and the players MADE it a part of WMU culture. We Will Reign is already a part of WMU culture - the more it is used, even if only in passing, the more it becomes our "Victory for MSU" or our "Hail to the Victors" - a cool part of our fight song that also becomes a motto to rally around. Yes, there would be some marketing involved, but I'm not sure it would have to be nearly as aggressive as PJ's RTB marketing.

agreed. We will reign is more, we're saying that now? Oh that's cool! Rather than that WTF is this RTB thing? What do boats have to do with Broncos? etc. etc.
