St. Louis is lame.... el paso should be the new gateway to the west.
El Paso? Why don't you just make it Texarcana?
Because Texarcana has nothing there. Plus el paso is the western most point of texas.
First, who cares?
Second, it's west of a lot of significant places / events in the west... like Deadwood, or The Little Bighorn, or Santa Fe. I know you were joking, but the reason St. Louis is the "Gateway to the West" is because it was the last inhabited city on the Western frontier where Lewis and Clark set off on their expedition up the Missouri and to the Pacific.

El Paso. El Paso is West of Santa Fe. You can't call it the gateway to the west because it skips a ton of the West.

Psshhh facts.... The only thing that matters is Texas, and since el paso is the furthest west point in Texas its the gateway to the west. No one else matters outside of Texas. Who needs history anyway lol?
