Apology accepted if sincere, and I believe it is.

And I'm very glad Memphis is in this conference. I can't imagine this conference without Memphis.

Is it too late to move the conference tourney this year? We're terrible this year and the attendance is going to suffer because of it.

Central locations would be great....Cincy, Memphis....maybe a "neutral" of Nashville (though that could be a disaster attendance wise)

Unfortunately, central in this conference just makes getting to the tourney difficult for everyone, not just some.

Attractive destinations will draw more than proximity.

I think it'd be better to rotate between schools and locals that actually go to games. Memphis and UCF are close record and RPI wise but Memphis more than doubles attendance of UCF. I think our best bets for attendance of the tournament is Memphis, Cincy, Hartford....though not this year perhaps

I don't disagree. It certainly seems like the conference is trying to figure out what actually works best through a sort of trial and error.

I think trying the tourney in NOLA would be a interesting try. we all know Tulane wont bring beans fan wise, but at least its a fun place to hang out for a weekend if your team falls out plus its reasonable travel for SMU, Memphis, UCF, USF & Houston

I see that you are moving your Knight to f7 setting up your rook for d8.....nice

the other image that comes to mind is Lucy pulling the football away just as Charlie Brown tries to kick it...

New Orleans would have been as good of a choice as any this year, jeb. Cincy is the only traditional basketball power playing to form this year. Until this afternoon's game, UConn is 2-4 in this conference that their fans have held their nose at being a member. Cincy's attendance continues strong and Memphis' attendance numbers look good in comparison to most of the balance of the conference, but butts in the seats are low compared to normal Tiger attendance.

If every school did what Cincy did there will be fans there.

Memphis is the best tourney site ... centrally located ... best arena ... located on Beale Street ... with great clubs, restaurants, and hotels. Everything within walking distance. Name a better site.

All for the crazy suggestion...Pallestra in Philly. Get it somewhere with some history that is close to a school. Can't be worse than Hartford...and the crime numbers are similar.

Palestra idea isn't a bad one. Historic and a location close enough to Temple and UConn. Plus, it's a perfect size. I'd make that trip to check out the historic venue and spend a long weekend in Philly.

That said, the conference likely won't do it because it doesn't have the bells and whistles the conference "elite" like to splurge on like luxury suites and club seats.

The Palestra sucks. I appreciate its importance in a historical sense, but actually going to a game there is the worst. I would welcome the conference tournament in Philly, but put it in the Wells Fargo Center.
