exactly. I will now boycott them for attempting to smear UC unnecessarily. Jackholes.

Only one season can go the other way around. Why can't UC play in a lesser stadium if its only for one season.

If UC is getting a bad deal from US Bank then I understand. But if not, then I happen to agree with the Holy Grail.

Here's my arguments for US Bank:
1. UC is a state funded school and will be doing its business outside that state. That feels wrong. That's alot of money being spent outside of Ohio and outside of the city you call home.
2. From a PR standpoint playing in downtown Cincinnati gives the games a big time big city feel.
3. For us out-of-towners who stay overnight for some of the games we attend I love the idea of getting a hotel downtown and being able to walk to the game and to my pregame and postgame entertainment venues.

Until you walk into the smelly, cramped, out-dated arena with sub-standard amenities.

Playing an entire season of football games downtown didn't feel big time

It's almost assuredly because UC is getting a bad deal from Nederlander. Look at US Bank Arena - nothing says "BIG TIME" than playing in an old, outdated arena. I also like how Nederlander heard that UC was looking to update their arena and offered to let them come downtown and renovate US Bank for them and only keep a portion of the profits. After it was clear that UC wanted to stay on-campus, it was clear that Nederlander did what they could to publically smear UC for their decision. Nederlander isn't concerned about Cincinnati or maintaining US Bank's property value, or they would have updated that dump a long time ago.

I'm sure if the 'Cats play at BB&T the sports networks can still take skyline shots of Cincinnati for their commercial break bumpers, and if it's ESPN, I'm sure they'll be using footage from 1997 to save a few bucks.

Arguably, UC playing in Northern Kentucky will allow us to potentially expand our footprint and area of influence to fans that might otherwise be UK, Louisville, or other.

Back in the dark ages I was a commuter student. Many of them depending on their location might prefer the Northern Kentucky location. I wonder what percentage of our student game attendance live on campus?

I'm a commuter student right now, unfortunately. Everyone I've talked to says they'll go to few, if any games if it's at BB&T. A lot of that is probably just talk, but one thing is for sure; nobody actually cares that US Bank Arena isn't as nice. Going to a game that is essentially in the suburbs is not any fun.

How many will go to a few, if any, at US Bank Arena? I remember a few years ago when a few games were moved down there that they had trouble getting students to go as well.

I agree that the general area around US Bank is more attractive, but if UC is going to get screwed on the cost of playing there I'd rather we not line Nederlander's pockets so they can continue to let US Bank go further downhill. The incentive to improve that property should be inherent in its location and the potential for future events and not dependent upon UC being strong-armed into an arrangement that doesn't make sense for them.

Getting to BB&T arena from the highway is basically a straight shot, honestly probably easier to get to than 5/3rd.

"Everyone I've talked to says they'll go to few if any games" Wait until next year when we are in the top of the AP/Coaches Poll, you'll be hopping on the bus Gus.
"nobody cares that US Bank isn't as nice" Personally I don't care for the smell
of 4 day worn socks. Going to the suburbs...it takes 5 minutes from downtown, and
a skyline is 2 minutes from your car.

I do not get this. NKU is but a few miles from the riverfront. Hardly any further than Clifton is. If you want to call it "the suburbs", OK. But exactly how does that take the fun out of attending a game?

Wouldn't sitting in a nice, new arena with amenities be more fun than an outdated dump ? Lots of folks have bitched on here for quite a while now about how Shoemaker is a problem for attendance and recruiting. I find it to be, even now, a much nicer environment than the crappy old Coliseum.

Students on campus have trouble getting to a Sunday afternoon game that's a few hundred feet from their dorm.

I don't think there would be any difference between USBA and BB &T whatever the number is.

I would mostly agree. The Banks would be an attraction for students after the game, however. In the end, it's going to come down to the university figuring out an ongoing system to bus students to each game, much like what was done when we played at PBS (to varying levels of success).

Simple solution is use the Ruckus Rewards to entice them to NKU. If you want student tickets in the newly renovated 5/3 then you show up next year as well. Maybe you wouldn't have the fall off that has happened this year post-X.

Jeremy Rauch‏ @FOX19Jeremy

Source confirms #Bearcats will play at BB&T Arena next season. UC didn't want empty seats with 18K at US Bank. @FOX19

(@TomGroeschen first)

#Bearcats BB&T Cont: Still some final details to hammer out before it's official. All but a done deal. @FOX19

If we get a good deal, maybe a home and home with NKU would be a good thing the following two years.

I support UC on however they approached this. Nederlander group is at fault for not updating their hockey venue. The only reason we get big acts in there is because we are a decently sized city. That arena in Wheeling, WV doesn't get nearly the acts we do here.

I'd love for US Bank to get updated, but living in the city and county, I ain't paying for it.

I don't watch or Trust as a source Jeremy Rauch on 19..If their channel would actually cover UC I might consider him a minor ass instead of a complete ass..

I think UC may prefer US Bank, but I am guessing is taking a bath on the cost. I do believe they will go to BB&T happily, but I bet part of this leak is to try and get US Bank to bring down the price a bit. If I were the local businesses at the Banks, I'd be talking to US Bank about making it in UCs best interests to choose US Bank.
