RE: Nippert Stadium
When will our 37,000 seat true capacity be needed:

2017 Only if Luke walks on water
2018 See 2017 and perhaps Navy
2019 See 2017 and UCLA
2020 & 21 Don't see 2017 as Luke likely will have moved on or talk proves cheap?
2022 IU
2024 Pitt
2025 Nebraska and Boise

IU? You think their 300 fans who travel will make a difference?

Pitt? lol

They usually bring about 10 fans.

Literally... they returned all but 89 tickets to UC when they last played here in 2012 (hard to believe its been that long).

I thought Pitt might attract locals. A cool idea would be to have UC v PU on Sat. and Bengals v Stealers on Sunday.

I thought IU might bring out locals and some folks fro SE IN.

Since joining the AAC, we've had 8 games with attendance over 37,000. I've said this time and time again--Cincinnatians will support a winner. We just need to give them an excuse.

This. If UC wins we will be fine with attendance. If not, well ... plenty great seats avail. Same goes for the other teams in this town. Win and people show ... lose and people stay home.

Does IU even get 300 people at home? When you see a IU B10 home game 3/4 of the stands are the opponent's fans.

Averaged 44,314 in 2015 (latest year for statistics at NCAA); up from 41,657 in 2014

this

we get ranked again and get relevant again and we will sell out Nippert easily...regardless of opponent.

Unfortunately another big factor in home attendance for us is when the games are played. If they are at a nice time(mid afternoon or early evening) on a saturday folks like to get out even if they are not big fball fans. Thur/Fri nights less attractive like early noon starts.

I feel like UC's Thursday and Friday night games have consistently been some of their best attended.

It sure helps if we're playing the likes of UH on Thursday and not Tulane.

I wonder if they are going to put the big lion banner up in the lower bowl this season. Considering their big jump in season tix, I bet they just stick with the upper level banners.

Just gotta keep doss from stealing one this year.

I can't see Pitt drawing much local interest, to be frank about it.

And yeah, the Pitt fans are notoriously bad at traveling. Steeler fans are one thing, but the UP fans are a completely different matter. They have NEVER traveled well, even in the Panther heydays. It is a very provincial fan base and when they aren't in Pittsburgh, the Panther fans are doing other stuff.
