I'd prefer we have the players who give us the best chance to win on the floor. In a tightly contested game, I have 0 problem with Caupain getting 36 minutes. It's great to have depth, but when you have someone who's been a pretty dominant scorer and had 7 assists to go with it, you go with the hot hand.

Depth is helpful when players get into foul trouble too. Not being in foul trouble enables us to keep up the aggressive play at the end of the game.

I don't know, it's a long season, especially when you plan on playing meaningful games in March.

RE: Temple Game Thread
I think Mick has been trying to build a team that is deep and can wear out other teams. It's worked several times this year and hopefully will pay off during tourney time when teams are getting worn down by play and travel. It has almost bitten us a few times this year, but hopefully the end goal is being able to put Scott, Jenifer, Brooks, Cumberland, etc in to give the front line guys a bit of rest.

Smart move if that's why he's doing it, which I assume he is.

I think the biggest issue for Jennifer is size. Mick has indicated in his interviews that he likes having the ability to post up Troy due to his size. Moreover, Troy is a very good rebounder for a guard (he had 9 last night).

Next year when Broome comes in we are not going to have the post-up option for our PG. That being said, Broome will apparently be able to be able to beat the press at a level that neither Troy and Jennifer can do.

I really hope Fickell is at the shootout. That would be a much better introduction to the passion of UC sports.

Looks like some of the other coaches were there last not too (but not sitting in the student section with Fickell per twitter pics).

My donor relations people in UCATS said he will be introduced at halftime at the X game.

I like this because it reminds Xavier that they don't have a football team.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. It would be hilarious if he said something about playing their football team.

If I were Luke I would close out my remarks with "I guarantee we'll never lose another football game to eggsavier". Would bring the house down...

St. Joe's and La Salle fans make fun of our football team (even though we're winning 10 games a year the last two years). We totally should've done this if it was possible.

Washington had a great first half, 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. Can anyone tell me why he sat on the bench most of the second half? He only had 22 total minutes.

Defense. Plus they went small for awhile, so we went with a smaller lineup as well.

By my watch they were playing four guards most of the last 10 minutes. In those lineups you need Gary's defense.
