Quote:Jesus. 8 wins you think is competitive? Get the f.u.c.k out. You low expectation mother f.ucker.s.

I think you're thinking of this past year. Are you in a time machine? :)

@USC [GuaranSheed Loss]
@MSU [A Loss; Unless MSU is in a true downard spiral which no indications they actually are]
@NIU [NIU Improved; When's the last time we won here? None under PJ and had to fight on our own turf to beat them in their down year]
@Toledo [We upset them when ranked there; They'll be Good; Expect a loss but we can win]

Idaho [9W team making last hurrah before going FCS; Thankfully it's at home; Should win]
@EMU [improved team remember; on the road this time; no easy task at EMU's rate]
CMU [should have this one of course]
BSU [A win]
3 MAC East Teams / 2 Home, 1 Away [Should win 2 out of 3, if not all 3 if we're operating well]
Wagner-FCS [GuaranSheed win]

With a new QB, WR set, and more importantly new coaching helm adjusting things with the air of PJ out of the room -- yeah, 8-4 is Competitive and "par".

Expectations is that we could certainly beat @NIU or @Toledo, but end up slipping to a tough MAC-E team/CMU/@EMU/Idaho-if-as-good-as-this-past-year.

USC is the only game that should be a possible loss. Period. Low expectation fan. My God. Can you image Michigan fans "Mmm 8 wins would be a good year." Get the fuc.k out of here. I can't stand this. Jesus. Have some self respect.

Can we please get this clown banned? Lends nothing to the board. Filthy loudmouth.

Your 8 win expectations are adding a ton of value slappy.

Raise your expectations.

Please find that quote for me boomerang

He's an idiot. Don't engage with him. If you do, you'll get what you expect.

"Les Miles, yada, yada, yada.......raise your expectations, yada, yada, yada."

He has shown no capability to offer anything except what we've seen and read from him. Same song, 5th verse. Rinse, repeat.

Amusing fool. He just can't stay away though. Hence the monicker boomerang. Further evidence to support the obvious will be forthcoming I'm sure.

Of course I'd love more than 8 wins. Just a tough schedule this year along with losing Davis and Terrell and it's just tough. Not impossible to win 10, just tougher. Probably why PJ left, figured there's little chance to recapture lightening with this schedule so strike when the irons hottest.

Say we took this past year's team and put them in a time-machine to replace this next year's team. NIU + Toledo on the road. USC and a better MSU VS NW & Illinois. GA-Southern vs Idaho? Idaho was better last year (surprisingly) than GA-Southern. Expect it to be about the same this year, maybe a bit tougher? Our MAC East schedule -- tougher, even though 2 at home. We were "lucky" with that MAC Sched. This one could be as smooth given 2 home games, but I gotta assume we're going to have an improved-BGSU, an Ohio, or possibly a deadly Miami in there. Wouldn't be shocked by 2 of those.

Overall, I'd say getting to 10-2 regular season this next season would be About as tough as us going 12-0 this past season (with same team).

Is our team going to be as deadly? Probably not. Hey, there's a lot of unknowns. Maybe our QB could be almost as good as Terrell. Dunno. But our WR crew won't be. But maybe our O gameplan will be better? Dunno, but I'm not going to Bank on it, of course.

In general, with a new HC at the helm and many different assistants -- and a new QB who hasn't really played at all (but supposedly good potential) -- and missing 3 senior WRs who caught most of the balls (including legend Davis) ....... I don't see how one should EXPECT 10W-or-bust... which to me would be a basic repeat of last year (8-0 in MAC, 2-2 OOC).

I think we are going to have the same east opponents as last year. Just like they did 2 and 3 years ago.

If that's the case, that'd be Sweeeeet. Apart from Buffalo having their "test year" where they could be Worse -- they'll be tougher teams at least a bit more of a threat which could affect us if we're hitting adjustment pains, but 2 tougher will be at home -- and more importantly we won't be playing Miami, BG, or Ohio.

My expectations:
2-10 (or Lower): Not Possible. Only wins over Wagner & [@Buffalo/Kent/Akron/BSU/CMU]. We'll win more than that. I wake up from Nightmare. Only a BAD dream.

3-9/4-8: VERY Improbable. Things in disarray coaching-wise + Injuries up the ying-yang + Bad Luck. Zero Expectation. Only theoretical nightmare that Could be Technically be true. Requiring Multiple unrelated bad things happening, starting at coaching & controversies.

5-7: Slightly Possible but Improbable -- Do Not count on it. Losing to ALL of @USC, @MSU, @Toledo, @NIU, @EMU, CMU, [Idaho/Akron/Kent/BSU]

6-6: Somewhat Possible. Don't count on it, but would need bad luck & injuries + not great coaching. Losing to @USC, @MSU, @Toledo, @NIU, @EMU, [Idaho/CMU/Akron/Kent/BSU]

7-5: Possible. Losing to @USC, @MSU, @Toledo, @NIU, [@EMU/CMU/Idaho/Akron]. Coaching not impressive but not horrible; ball not bouncing our way; QB/WR-core not panning out so well

8-4: Most Possible. Losing to @USC, @MSU, @Toledo, [@NIU/@EMU/CMU/Idaho/Akron]. This is "par" given no key injuries.

9-3: Possible. Losing to @USC, @MSU, [@Toledo/@NIU/@EMU/CMU/Idaho/Akron]. Only losing 1 MAC game, with Toledo & NIU on the road, plus beating everyone else including Idaho.

10-2: Somewhat Possible. Don't count on it. Would be a SURPRISE - WOW. Losing to @USC, [@MSU/@Toledo/@NIU/@EMU]

11-1: VERY Improbable. Zero Expectation. Most likely we'd be Better than this past year's team. Losing to only 1 [@USC/@MSU/@Toledo]

12-0: I wake up from my dream, with kleenex all over me. Buster Bronco stuffed animal seems out of whack. Yep, just a Fantasy. Won't Happen any more than other Night-time Fantasy would.

NIU's 2017 non-conference schedule: Boston College, at Nebraska, at SDSU, Eastern Illinois. They should beat EIU (then again, they should've beaten WIU this past season). We'll find out just how improved they may be if they can avoid a 1-3 start.

RE: Expectations
^^^^ Yeah, how well they measure up against BC, @Nebraska, and @SD-State (as well as EIU), should give us a good look at them. As well as Toledo too to some extent, to see if they're hitting the ground running... but with NIU it's really important because it's a pivotal year for them & Rod Carey.

If NIU hits a gear where they're going to be just on the level of what CMU seems to be now -- a step below Toledo every year (and us if we get set well with Lester) -- then that'll make the MAC West less challenging every year, and give us greater opps to make the MACC here and there.

RE: Expectations
Lester gets a pass against USC this year, I expect a well fought game against MSu and a loss by no more then 10, we need to beat Idaho and our D-1aa contest if we have one. 2-2 into MAC play.....I expect to compete for MAC championships from here out. If the culture of winning is retained then there is no need to expect less.
