I won't lose any sleep over it. But neither will I go gaga over him either. If next season he decides to announce that he's a UC alum then great. If not? Eh, "bye, Felicia."
This is hilariously petty. And you don't even seem to have a clue whether he actually has a problem with UC or if he meant no offense at all and just wanted to say his hometown in the cute little meaningless 2 second intro.

You are correct... I have no clue. But ever since they've been doing the starting line-ups (even before the "moving picture" ones...) it's been standard practice for the player to have their alma mater listed. Even for players who were in the League for decades (meaning that where they played their college ball was all but irrelevant).
I was watching in a bar last night so I didn't hear every player's introduction, but I didn't catch any other player who didn't list their college or university. Which makes Kelce...unusual. Which could also be his point, for all I know. And it's his right to do whatever he wants to. Nothing says he has to say (or list) "University of Cincinnati" with his name and face.
As a fan of the University of Cincinnati, though, it'd be nice to see and hear it.
BTW, nice way to edit my fuller quote, FWIW... Leaving out the part where I said "It only really sucks when the other team (The Pittsburgh Steelers) introductions are led by a QB who proudly announces his college as "Miami University of Ohio," and then in the Chief's lay-out you have your alumnus announce that he's from "Cleveland Heights, Ohio." to demonstrate my pettiness was a nice touch.

That's not true. Since the networks started having the players state their name and school, some have said their high school or elementary school team, while others have tried to be funny by saying Hogwarts and stuff like that. I don't see any reason to take Kelce's intro as a person insult to UC.

Maybe in the grand scheme of things it isn't that big of a deal, but right now TK is our only professional star athlete in either sport. Could you imagine Zeke Elliot not claiming OSU or Anthony Davis not claiming UK. Not to compare him to those two guys, but he is our #1 professional product right now.

Pretty sure there are a few more Bearcats playing in the NFL. It must be the "star" part of your statement that you are basing your opinion on. Conner Barwin might be disappointed that he is not considered a star by you and change his pre-game origin to something other than UC. Let's also not forget Kelse's brother. But alas, he must not be a star. He will probably start recognizing Cleveland Heights now too.

That's cause they were drafted out of HS

To answer the question posed in the title of this thread:
Kelce is a dbag...always has been. I was ok with it when he was playing for UC.

RE: What's Kelces deal
I root for Kelce. If it turns out that he has a problem with the university, I may reconsider. But to make a big deal out of "cleveland heights, ohio" is premature, imo. He could just be really proud of his hometown.
For what it's worth, I believe James Harrison is another player who, at one time or another, lists his high school. It's not common, but it does happen. And It doesn't automatically indicate an issue with their former university.

Kelce did a UC motion after scoring a touchdown in the Pro Bowl.

RE: What's Kelces deal
Kelce was on the Dan Patrick Show today (pushing Old Spice deodorant).
No mention of UC by Kelce (though, to be fair, no real reason he should), though Dan Patrick did mention his University of Cincinnati education when having him read his own draft profiles.

Patrick is a Mason native and a University of Dayton grad.

6 pages all about a intro the guy recorded once in September. People here are acting like a spiteful girlfriend still pissed their boyfriend diddled in someone else's pooter.
What ever will we do when Kelce comes out and tells people he likes Goldstar over Skyline?

I don't think that was for the University of Cincinnati. I've heard he's a big supporter of Ulcerative Colitis research.
