Five AAC Players Selected in MLS Superdraft
I know not many on here keep a keen eye on soccer, but this is just more positive publicity for the conference.

Jakob Nerwinski (UConn) #7 overall
Kwame Awuah (UConn) #16 overall
Marcus Epps (South Florida) #25 overall
Lindo Mfeka (South Florida) #28 overall
Jake McGuire (Tulsa) #30 overall

The remaining supplemental picks will take place on the 17th.

We have consistently put players into the MLS since the inception of the current conference, definitely another feather in our collective cap.

...thanks for the constant oversight...

Temple star Jorge Gomez Sanchez drafted by Vancouver in the 3rd round. Becomes the first Temple player to be drafted. The best part is that he was drafted before former Temple star Robby Sagel, who transferred to Penn State.

USF's Nazeem Bartman was drafted in the 4th, also by Vancouver.

If only they could figure out how to beat Tulsa in a tournament.

Yep, pretty crazy...the AAC definitely has a very high top end, unfortunately our bottom end is equally low 03-lmfao

I love MLS. I have Orlando City season tickets. I can't wait until March 5th.

Unless they're a 1st round pick the chances are very slim. Very few players even make the seam from the 2nd-4th rounds. They'll end up in USL or NASL.

Whats cool about MLS, and soccer in general, is the academy system. A lot of players come up in their home town MLS academy and are able to bypass the draft and sign with their local MLS club after HS or college. They're called "Homegrowns".

Larin was from uconn speaking of Orlando City. I think MLS in its current form is a joke though. Our best players run off in the middle of the season to play with other teams. How can I take it seriously? I'll take it seriously when they do. For now i'll randomly attend games when nothing else is going on.

Who ran off to play for another team? Players get transferred or traded. That happens in all pro sports.

I just think that we need to develop a standard pro-rel format, but American sports fans and owners won't like that, because it actually forces teams to try to be successful rather than draft 3 centers and playing for the #1 pick in the draft every year.

ECU had a guy that was a regular starter in MLS, but we don't have a program anymore.

Some will break into playing time pretty quickly.
