I like the resilience in this win. Keep clawing. Keep fighting. Win a tight game against a good team.

Gotta keep the bigs on the court but Timmy and Ty showed up when we needed them.

I see this team, like all, is having primary and complimentary scoring threats.

E.g., Nobles is a complimentary threat. He does best when he gets the ball say on a kick out, etc.

I see Bond as also a complimentary scoring threat. Ditto Nobles.

JT4 and Lee (and Mangum) are primary scoring threats. Tough to win without them.

Agreed. This was a game when the complimentary guys needed to do enough to win. JT4 going wild for a few minutes was big.

Toney has been tough the past two games. This game is a perfect example of why I worry about mangum. Too much weight in his shoulders and he pushes and he crumbles. Bad day for him.

Wow, wow, wow beating Ohio on the road is by far the best win of the season to date. I would never expect Bond to take the last shot but he must be confident and I L.O.V.E. it!!!!!!

I am so happy right now!!! Congratulations to Coach Murphy, staff, and players. I can not say enough about winning on the road against Ohio. I don't care that Campbell didn't play because winning on the road at Ohio is the biggest Conference win under Murphy in my opinion.

We finished 2-0 without Lee but we need him. Hopefully Lee and all of the players understand the expectation is 100℅ effort 100℅ of the time.

Let's go 2-0 next week!!!!

Go EMU!!!

The only persons happier than us is the 'loaded' bettor in Vegas who took EMU 'straight up' (no points).

Odds were 3 : 1.

Put down $100 on EMU (no points) and collect $400 ($100 bet + $300 winnings) at the window...

As far as points, we were an 8 point underdog.

Funny. Did not watch most of the game. But seemed an odd disparity in free throws. 29 for Ohio and only 15 for EMU. Fortunately, Ohio only made 55% of theirs.

Obviously a huge win in terms of standings, as well. Tied for 2nd place in the MAC (with a breaker over Ohio) despite that home loss to Buffalo.

That Valentine's Day game against Ohio in our Convo will really be something. Maybe I can swing a trip to Ypsi on a Tuesday....

His lack of poise just rendered that an impossibility.

Saw a reminder of this on Twitter, but EMU snaps long losing streaks in Athens in both football and hoops this year.

EMU is no longer pushovers for anybody in this conference. Not for football. Not for basketball.

EMU should never ever be a push over in Basketball. With our proximity to recruits, EMU should be top 4 team in this conference year in and year out!

Dear Friends,
Really nice to come home with a victory over Ohio at their place. Like others have said, now is the time to put together a nice win streak this week with games against Western and Akron. Let's hope the boys are ready to do it.

Lucky, you are 100% correct and I have been saying that for years. In fact, with our location, it should be almost difficult to suck in basketball. I just wish we had a coach to take the program to the next level.

Sam, I would never compare ourselves to CMU basketball.

They always are. That's why it's important to beat WMU. Besides, beating WMU is fun. Hope we win by 30.

Nope. He is a senior and the season is already 1/2 over. (med redshirts are available up to 1/4 of the games during that season).
