I want to hear about the process and how they arrived at Coach Lester. There usually is a lot more that went on then most of us know.

Correct. Many of the posters have been way to quick to judge.

It was a "national search" that yielded an alum we rescued from unemployment line who was vetoed by the president four years ago.

If he wasn't an alum, we hired a guy who was recently fired as Purdue's QB coach. And his name was not associated with any other jobs.

One would think a program that just played in Cotton Bowl and finished ranked 15th in country might've done better.

That said - he does have HC experience and I won't criticize having one of our own running the program until-unless he proves he's not up to it on the field.

After the exhausting, hurricane force cult of personality the last four years, he may be a refreshing change.

And perhaps we can do away with all the slogans and gimmicks, and get back to "Go Broncos!"

WOTS is that "playing well with others" was a HIGHLY sought after personality trait during this process.

No inside information here but I believe ESSSS's comments are spot on! Something tells me that in spite of PJ's success, his personality and high intensity traits may have had a tendency to wear negatively on co-workers, WMU administration, other coaches, players and certain fans. He's a bit like Jim Harbaugh in that respect. Harbaugh had those issues at both Stanford and with the 49ers. Could be heading in that direction over time in AA as well. As for PJ, I still think the entire Minnesota move was in play, or at least initiated by his agent, on the day Tracy Claeys tweeted his player support tweet that likely enraged the MN higher ups (around 12/16 or so). He just played us for the next couple of weeks.

I've wondered myself if the Peej stayed on board to gain the NY6/Cotton Bowl experience -- for himself, his resume and for his career.

No need to wonder, of course.
