In all seriousness, couldn't Jake do that?

No

Of course he couldn't. He's not 6-11 and 265+

Could and should IMO.

Against Ole Miss, we saw how taller opposing post players can rack up a bunch of points against Jake

Obviously, one has to pick and choose spots. Jake, at 6'5 shouldn't ever be guarding Saiz alone.

Jake seems to have the sense to only do non-hurtful things when he's in. He won't try to score unless it's a layup, he tried to draw charges. He won't set illegal picks or commit an and-1 foul.

He are some of our wise posters thoughts on Jake :

Both Nick Marshall and Stan Simpson were leaps and bounds more productive than Azab was in HS (Stan and Nick were recruited by some big name schools) and both still were slow to adjust to the college game and put up paltry numbers their first year.

Both were a bit lost on defense, slow afoot, and weren't options in the post.

I dunno. Some posters kids play rec ball with him and say he's the real deal, so there's that.

Even better than the Finch Center updates.

I know it comes across as bagging on the kid, but it's more of just trying to keep people from eventually turning on him.

Like in my previous post, and years before that, posters throw out these unrealistic expectations of players and when the don't meet them, they are a bust.

If Azab does play, I would expect him to essentially be a less talented (same sized/slowness) version of Nick Marshall. And Nick was a 3 & 3 guy.

I hope he does have the potential some says he has. But realistically most of the bench warmers would dominate pick up games at the Rec center.

Not sure if you are saying that I haven't put the issue to bed since I brought the issue up, by starting this thread, (you're probably not referring to me), but I was just mentioning what Tubby had stated in regards to the NCAA making a decision "any day now". Also I'm just hopeful that the news would be good. I do know that the NCAA sucks with stuff like this.

Nah, just saying most of us pretty much closed the door on this year the second he wasn't cleared on January 1.

Correct...

Aint too many people on a rec league floor who can handle 6-11 and then there is no 3 second violation...Just hang it up.

If the coaches can get it wrong this much, how can you decide who can and can't play by anecdotal stats.

Agree.

And not bizarre...when they disagree they label it nuts. Weak sauce.
