He had hip surgery. Hope he recovers soon!

Interesting timing.

It would be awesome if he would just resign and us not have to pay out the rest of his contract but I doubt we'll be that lucky.

Hell even a Cat only has 9 lives. Lebo has had 19 lives or Seasons with no NCAA Appearance. His Coaching Career has been an amazing journey of mediocrity that has made him wealthy

Wish him well on his surgery but ECU has got to take the Basketball Program in a new direction

Or he's trying to escape blame for how badly this season is going and how much worse it's going to get and hope he can use it as an excuse to not be fired.

Looks like ECU's experiment with a UNC alum as HC is going as well as Apps. Jason Capel set our program back a decade or two. Good luck.

He'll coach Sunday (a lost either way) and they replacement (any word on who?) takes over starting with a very winnable UConn game.

Asst. Coach Michael Perry will take over in the interm. He's been at ECU for 10 years which means he's a hold over from the Stokes Era. I've heard conflicting reports, some say Lebo will coach Sunday some say he won't. I guess we will know more later.

ESPN notes he's coaching and I'm inclined to trust them unless we have an insider saying otherwise. Has Perry coached elsewhere? If so in what capacity?

Winnable? I don't think that word means what you think it means in that sentence.

Seriously you can't accept reality to call that game "winnable." Yes UCONN by their standards are awful, but ECU is awful by all standards and we are winless on the year in road games. Any win outside of USF or Tulane will be a massive upset, and it won't shock me in the least if we lose the upcoming games to them.

ECU is loaded with Tobacco Road bandwagon fans who are content to skip Basketball season at ECU and keep pulling for their Walmart Tshirt team from the ACC. There is a contingent of bandwagon fans who think a Dean Smith or Roy Williams disciple can turn us around and on the flip side there are plenty of Duke wannabes who think some magic pixy dust from the Coach K tree of knowledge can save us. Based on my disdain for the Triangle Mafia I would prefer to see us succeed in Basketball with somebody outside of the Triangle. I am desperate enough that I would plug my nose and be very happy with a winner at ECU if they were a Duke or UNC player/coach. I think it would be better for the overall health of our Basketball program if we found a successful Coach from somewhere else who could unite and build a fan base at ECU. I am sick to death of the lame excuse of we are in the shadow of the ACC so cant succeed when plenty of programs in our geographic area outside of the ACC do succeed. I particularly hate that attitude because 9 times out of 10 it comes from a ACC Bandwagon fan who does not have any skin in the game for ECU succeeding in Basketball.

It's not a winnable game.....Uconn is having a terrible season but right now they should be 17 point favorites...
Cheers!

If he leaves due to health, can ECU get out of the pay out?
