RE: New Column: Hungry 'Cat Gets The Bone
I liked the article Dan and the message from MC, thank you. My memory isn't great but I don't remember Mick coming out with slogans very often (if ever). My take is that he's saying to the players look, the talent is here, the emphasis on defense is here, the offensive skill is evident...now go out and take/earn it every night. The bone represents deflections, but it really symbolizes hunger and focus to get the job done when it matters. When you go to the NCAA 6 years in a row with little success, efforts need to be made to get over the hump. Stay hungry, stay thirsty my friend. I've seen it posted where they say we will lose playing like this "when it matters". Well IMO last night mattered! Getting in and then improving your seed matters. Winning vs the other best team in your conference matters for confidence in big games. Evans missing the FTs goes against what I'm saying, but hopefully next time he will sink them and oh yeah...THEY STILL WON! Luck is a friend of good play and momentum and a terrible joke at times. We'll take it either way.

Seriously ...are you a UC fan? I would say ....probably not...I guess you just can't please the casual fan...oh well...

You have season tix? For Mick's entire tenure? Didn't think so. Easy to be an armchair fan with no financial (and little emotional) investment. Casual fan your ass 05-nono

I've had season tickets since they opened the Shoe... 6 rows up from the floor in the end zone ....Ucats member since 1980 when I got football tickets..I've missed maybe 5 games since Steve sanders hit the corner shot to beat Minnesota ...what else you got?

Can't claim your legacy but stand by mine. Row 21, lower level behind the opposing bench. PM me and I'll still buy you a beer, even though you are a d-bag!

Beer ??? From you.... I'll take a pass...I only drink at UC games with UC fans...not some millennial spoiled brat ...

An award winning thread I say!

Seriously though, the offense was clicking fine. Sometimes high level sports are hard to win at.
Coach Cronin isn't Satan, stop attributing all ills to him. The kids are human and as such, they may miss a couple shots here and there.

A season ticket holder? More like the local heckler.

You PM me where your seats are & I'll do the same. We meet up & I'll even buy you an overpriced beer.

Don't live in state, but even if I did, I'd pass. Just hope your seats aren't right behind the bench. They should be reserved for those who enjoy the games. Not the hecklers.

I sat right behind UC's bench a few years ago at the Colisum. No thanks. Mick is over the top obscene & I am pretty liberal with my sailor language.

Geez...I bet you are a blast at social functions...how big of a priss are you? Of all the criticisms you could give about the game last night and you choose to call it Mick ball? For ***** sake man, it may have been one of the best offensive performances a Cronin coached team has had since he took over at UC.

We all admit Mick has his problems, but last night was a rare time when the fault was on defense. Take your head out of your ass and enjoy the win.

To use a golf analogy, good players get good breaks. Regardless of it's truth, Cincy has been getting good breaks this year. And they have a good team!

Can you guys knock it off (I won't bother to name names, you know who you are)? If you cannot debate civilly, just put one another on ignore.

RE: New Column: Hungry 'Cat Gets The Bone
I'm not quite as harsh a critic, but I see gerhard's side of the argument here (at least, in terms of closing the game). The closing minutes of the game were a carbon copy of the game at SMU last year. The only difference was, the potential winning shot rimmed out, where it went in last year.

But, as I've been saying since the end of the game - I'm taking the stroke of good luck, without apology. We'll see where this is next month. And, yes, the offense was otherwise efficient until that point.

Great signature Beercat 04-bow

That's too bad. Sleep is one of the truly great joys in life.
