Got my attention.

I often watched the UC football team during the past four years thinking they were close to being really good--but terribly undisciplined. Penalties, poor decisions, bad tackling, etc.

I commend CLF for "starting over" with these players and setting a tone to build pride and discipline. I'm more excited about being in Nippert this fall than at any time in recent memory. Ready to renew season tickets and cheer on the 'Cats.

I am the type of person who never responded well to the rah-rah attitude that coaches like Butch Jones had. After BK the antics that Jones pulled around UC seemed silly. I admit that even during the "Hold the Rope"/ "Represent the C" days the players loved it. After the past four years the rah-rah "Earn the C"/#LetItFly/T.E.A.M. thing is all very refreshing.

I'm hoping the team we see this fall matches the look of the stadium they are playing in...the past 4 years, that hasn't been the case (and that is not a knock on the players). I think, give these guys some good coaching, they can be pretty good.

I scraped through with plenty of B-'s, but I always managed to avoid "Earning the C".

I always wonder how these coaches say this stuff with a straight face. But hey if it really gets the team motivated then by all means keep the cliches coming.

For puts out a more authentic vibe than Fleck or Butch, and maybe it's partly due to his pedigree at a big time program. It seems like it's more than just an empty catchphrase for Fickell based on the movement we've seen already in his short tenure here. Time will tell, of course.

Same here. I was never a rah rah guy in hs, and thought it was a waste of energy. It is obvious that it works.

The good news is the ones who buy in will be willing to run through a wall for these coaches. We are also about to get that swagger back on and play more physical, disciplined brand of football.

The past two seasons it has been hard to get excited for our games, and this past season I actually chose to not watch a couple games out of apathy/disgust. CLF has me "juiced" for the upcoming season, and I hope he can coach as well as he motivates.

On paper (outside of lack of talent) I can't imagine this coaching staff not succeeding.

I experienced social anxiety and depression trying to get through the past couple of seasons. I think it's training for the fans as well as the players.

He's building a brand. An identity. God knows we need one.
